Mach 1 non-HP has been amazing

    Otis in Atlanta, 04/02/2025
    2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 2dr Coupe (5.0L 8cyl 6M)
Overall this Mach 1 is nearly perfect. SO quick... and fun to drive the Tremec 6-spd manual. Several different configurations allows potential owners (used buyers by now in 2025) to find the one to suit them best. The big choices are: Handling Pak vs Non-Handling Pak....10spd Auto vs 6spd Manual....Reacaro race seats vs Sport Comfort seats. Auto/Man choice is totally subjective and … usually a quick decision personally (so no comment). The HP vs Non_HP - be SURE you want the huge wide tires; and save $$ because you will wear out the Pilot Sport Cup2 tires in about 8,000 miles (no kidding!) Most owners after 8K miles switch to the Pilot Sport 4S tires, which are great BUT will only net you about 15,000 miles front and 20,000miles rear (again, not kidding). Now the seats: everyone "wants" the cool, leather Recaros but remember that they delete all elec functions as they are MANUAL seats on fixed rails. I in no way wanted the Recaros because I DID want the 3 position electric memory seats AND I also wanted the heated and cooled seats. I LOVE the luxury feel and experience of these electric seats as they auto-return to my driver setting at start up and they move back at shut down to an 'exit position'. You give all this up if you get the Recaro manual seat tracks! So those above items are the Big-3 choices you make when shopping a used Mach 1. These cars are not toys and they run like race cars on the street (dont put others at risk...be judicious or go to a track). You rarely need to slow down for average curves, this thing sticks like glue (more so for the HP cars!) and exiting corners on throttle makes you laugh out loud. Power-wise it is like most V8s below 4,000rpm...above 4,500rpm this Mach 1 gets serious, into its powerband, and pulls right up to its 7,450rpm redline...keeping this thing between 6-7k on the Tach will scare you and you will run out of public road quickly. Instrumentation and gauges are top-notch and this car monitors everything. Hell, it has FOUR radiators (Engine coolant, Engine oil, Trans oil, and Rear Differential Oil) ....all cooled. Underbody Air-management is wild with scoops and diffusers. Active Exhaust and Magna-ride are incredible. Kudos to Ford Engineers for putting this all together on 1 car. Only the Shelbys are more exclusive (earned that). I get compliments about every other day I drive this Mach 1. The only downside will be buying rubber as often as I will need to, bummer. I am on new tires front and rear now and only have 16,000miles on my 2023 Mach 1 non-HP, 6spd, in Dark Matter Grey. Love this car....a LOT.
