2023 Ford F-150 Limited 4dr SuperCrew 4WD SB (3.5L 6cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 10A)
I was worried somewhat about this truck's reliability after seeing Consumer Report's ranking as the least reliable truck in its survey. CR, I beg to differ at least for the first 2000 miles (with no maintenance issues) that I have owned it. CNET and Edmunds like it and I think their analysis is more correct. I have a 2023 Ford 4x4 Platinum Hybrid and I couldn't be happier with it. Good … gas mileage was a factor in my decision but I don't see anyway it will average its EPA estimate of 23/23/23. I haven't had to go anywhere in a hurry or tow my boat so I have really babied it on some trips. No more than 73 MPH with cruise control and I really try to let it drive in the electric mode as much as I can. The best I can get is 22 MPG in Eco mode when I calculate fuel and miles and the trip computer says it gets 22.4 MPG. This is all on flat Florida terrain.
The sound system is really superb. I have never been in a quieter vehicle. It rides well, better than my 2014 Tundra 1794 that I traded. The connectivity navigation features, maps and Blue Cruise all work well. I haven't decided whether or not to get an extended warranty, I'll just see how it does.
I really wanted a new Tundra 1794 but this truck is so superior to it in so many ways that I couldn't buy a Tundra. The Tundra has no Auto 4WD, The Ford does. The Tundra has less headroom, less legroom and less comfortable seats. The bumpers are plastic, the window trim doesn't fit properly and the wind noise is excessive. The tailgate has no real step-up other than that goofy little step that you can push down to step in to the bed because you can't step on the bumper (or it comes down automatically in the higher trims). In contrast, the tailgate step in the Ford is well thought out and has a handrail also. For those of you that Tailgate at College Football games, the tailgate has 2 black metal tiedowns, one on each side. They double as bottle openers, clever. The Ford bumpers are metal as they should be. Storage under the rear seat is great. That's where they put the Tundra's hybrid battery. I could go on and on but so far this is the best vehicle I have ever owned and is an absolute joy to drive.
Power is unbelievable the few times I've punched the accelerator.
Edmunds, you don't list a Platinum 4x4 Super Cab Hybrid in your Model section where you select your trim. You need to fix this because the only hybrid you list is the Limited that I had to select to submit this. My truck might as well be the Limited except for the 22 inch wheels, mine are 20 inch.
