2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV Consumer Reviews

I Love this Vehicle
This is among the best vehicles I have had in this price range. It is comfortable and gets a great range on a charge. It takes awhile to get used to as some of the controls are counter intuitive and some have spent a great deal of time reading the manual but it is worth it.

Don't make the mistake of buying a GM EV
I previously had a kia EV6 gt-line awd and traded it for a Blazer EV RS awd. The Blazer is inferior by far. The infotainment seems impressive at first, but if you're coming from Android Auto or Apple Car Play, you'll soon regret giving it up. There's no native text app and no support for Signal or WhatsApp. I use those for work communication a lot, and now I can't receive it reapond to messages while driving without looking at my phone. And music/podcast support is sub par, too. If you use something other than one of the native apps for music, you have to do so via Bluetooth. From Bluetooth you can't navigate Playlists or select anything from the touch screen. So when I use Castbox or Pandora I have to use my phone in the car. Supercruise is very over rated - not much more advanced than the HDA system on hyundai/kia. For example - it selects lanes and does lane changes on its own, but it DOES NOT navigate. So if you're supposed to be in a specific lane where a highway divides/splits, the car might take you out of the lane on its own. You have to dig through menus to turn off the automated lane changes, there's no way to turn it off temporarily and no way to turn it off without taking your eyes off the road and finding it. THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER IS IN A MENU. It's not a button on the mirror or visor, it's a touch screen item you have to find. Sales people and suckers will go on and on about how snappy and fast the maps are when you zoom in. Ask yourself - how impressive is that, really? I use navigation for turn by turn directions, not for hyperfast map zooming. Maybe if Supercruise actually navigated I would understand why GM insisted on making Google maps native, but Supercruise doesnt navigate. I deeply, deeply regret trading in my EV6 for this turd. GM basically made a worst version of apple carplay/android auto and then decided to charge you for it (most of the useful features require you to subscribe to a data plan).

Losing 60% of range during winter driving,
The Blazer ev awd rs 2024 is a stylish looking vehicle with nice features. But I was shocked at the loss of mileage driving in the winter. Getting only 1.2 miles per kw when it should be 3x that range. So at maximum charge, the Blazer is only getting about 100 mile range, not 279 as advertised. Others have reported similar range issues of getting only 2.6 miles per kw during mild weather. It is Anchorage, Alaska and the temperature can be around 20°F or below. Even so, paying about 50 cents/kw at a charge station, the Blazer ev only gets about 8 miles for every $3.50 spent on charging. Whereas, on a gasoline engine the mileage would be about 3x that when paying $3.50/gallon of gas. Update: it's summer and the range has increased to about 3 miles/Kw which is about the expected range. In winter set the internal temp to no higher than 68-70°F, turn on the heated steering wheel and seat, and wear a warm coat to increase range to 2.6 miles/Kw. After a few months, issues with the battery required service drop-off. There's been a recent recall due to the parking brake engaging. Its going through a teething phase due to it being a new model. Overall, a nice car.

Latest technology, 1980s stereo.
I was excited about EVs coming to my town, specifically from GM. After 22 years of buying their cars, I always enjoyed driving and the radio has a lot to do with that. This car, by far, is the worst experience when driving. The assault on my ears from the sub sub par sound system screams GM is living in the past trying to move forward into the future. A generation raised by Apple iPod commercials where music is the sound track of our lives; this missed the mark and has officially made me hate GM and their products. I’ll never buy GM again. I’m stunned. You’d think car guys would at least mention how [non-permissible content removed] the stereo is. They focus so much on everything else but miss this very important in car experience. Anyways, if shopping for an EV, I’m sure there’s better alternatives. GM doesn’t deserve attention. This car sucks. When will a starlink satellite deorbit into this car and put me out of my misery.
