2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV Consumer Reviews

2x the fun
I leased my first Bazer EV on 8-4-2024 it’s a white RS with the red seats for only $403 a month with nothing down. After a month my Mach-E was totaled so I bought the gray LT for $216 a month it would of been $206 but it had the huge sunroof both were 24 month leases with nothing down. My wife loves her RS it has everything she wanted and she likes the maps on the front screen, I love mine but IPhone compatibility would make it perfect. I owned an EV6 also it was a great car but was towed in 3 times because they were shipped with bad 12 volt batteries and if they go dead you can’t drive the cars even with a Jump. Not sure why they rated the EV6 well above the Blazer because you can’t compare the interior space and the Blazer is much nicer and the interior materials on the Blazer are nicer. I would have probably bought another Mach-e but they were more than double the 24 month lease costs. My son has had both leaf models a Tesla 3 series “not sure why people like them at all” and had two Bolts “he absolutely loved them” and now replaced one with the Ionic 5. I have also had an EV9 loaner and can honestly say the Blazers are by far the better cars. I realize that early Blazers had a software glitch but all first year EVs have had issues. I had the first Mach-E sold in Colorado and it had its own issues but I realized that getting a first year anything has its own problems. The EV6 bad 12V batteries, Mach-E had 240 charging issues multiple software glitches, the leafs had no rang and the Ionic 5 also had 12V battery issues. Anyone who says Teslas don’t have problems or did have problems isn’t telling you the truth they have poor panel fits don’t go anywhere close to the EPA ratings and they used wood trim from Home Depot to hold down a parts not to mention rusting seats and extremely poor paint. Go test drive a Blazer before buying anything else and I am sure you will agree!!!’

I love it!
As someone who has been considering pulling the trigger on an EV for a couple of years, I went and looked at the Blazer EV on a whim. All it took was the test drive. I was sold. I’m aware that the car had problems at launch, but the software has been fixed and I haven’t had any issues. I’m glad that more EVs are coming to market and giving car buyers option to choose. If you are in the market for an EV add the Blazer to your short list. I couldn’t be happier.

Disappointed with Blazer EV purchase.
Where do we begin? Excited we purchased our Blazer EV mid October 2023. Not even two weeks later our infotainment screen went blank without being able to be restarted. Scheduled an appointment and of course had to wait a few days to get in, the day before appointment the screen magically started working again. The following week, living in New England the temperature gets cold needing heat. Heat is not functioning unless using a hack of setting it to 72 using the app to start the car remotely. Once getting in to the car the air temperature is slightly warm and immediately changes to blowing cold air when you go to drive. Setting the thermostat to any other temperature, it continues to blow cold air only. Bring it in for service. One part for heat pump compressor is order and replaced. Pick up vehicle after being at dealership service center for 3 days, we were told we “sort of have heat”. Another part is required to get heat working fully but will take 10 days to come in. Bring back to dealership for second part to repair vehicle, infotainment system again goes down. 10 business days later we get car back in for repair for heat and infotainment system repair. During this 10 day wait time for scheduled service, infotainment system pops back on but has only a frozen screen rendering it useless to adjust any of the cars functions. Vehicle in for service, with NO communication from dealership on status for 10 service days. Get call from dealer that the heat is working and possibly screen back up and running but said there was now a camera issue. Vehicle still in for service with no help from GM or dealership as to when issues will be rendered. Frustration does not even begin to explain this situation.

It saved my Life!
I had the SUV for five weeks until a 17 year old turning left going 20 MPH hit me almost full frontal and I was going 40 MPH. Without the whole set of airbags and safety features, I would be dead. I’m impressed with the solid structure and build quality. The seats were more supportive than my Buick. The huge tires very good ones and the RS trim leans towards sporty but slightly stiff ride. I agree with others that the speakers aren’t great. It charges 4x faster than my Bolt. I set it up for off peak electric rates for charging. The infotainment interface is fairly ez to master compared to my previous Audi etron which the Blazer and Lyriq was benchmarked on. The Blazer’s range of 278 is fairly accurate around town. Range is more likely 200 at 75-80 highway speeds. Can’t tell you how many people said what a beautiful car even the tow truck driver and people at the scene of the accident! It had 2020 miles and didn’t have any issues. I saved 148 gallons of gas the first month.

In the shop after 2 weeks
Many electronic issues including failure of the infotainment system which is where all programed functionality is accessed from. Also, constant rubbing sound while driving. Only one dealer in the city is currently certified to work on the model and told extended wait for replacement so over 60,000 for the car and 300 miles total on the car it is dead in the water at the dealer (for one week already and advise it replacement will take a long time). Not recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
