Very nice truck
Bought this truck for my wife, but wish I could drive it everyday. My six year old loves the moonroof, teenager loves the XM radio, both dogs like the removable rear glass window so they can stick their head inside while riding in the bed. The only thing my wife complains about is parking. As far as problems, the oxygen sensor had to be replaced at 2500 miles and one of the speed sensors malfunctioned (5000 miles) so the check ABS and traction control lights came on.
My 2nd Avalanche
Great truck.Easy to drive and great on week-end trips. Bad gas mileage, but everything else makes up for that. On- star is new and a great value too.

496 rocks
The real thing. A Chevy big block with even more cubes than it's ancestors. Needed more than a standard cab truck for new family addition, and couldn't stand the idea of not having an 8' bed for occasional use. This fits the bill just right. A very versatile truck with all the comfort and power of an old full size vehicle. We found the midgate to be a breeze to operate. A real cool truck on a nice day with the midgate down, 4 windows and sunroof open. Will add a performance program, synthetic oil, and performance air filter to wake up the 8.1. 12 to 13 mpg on a variety of driving. The 7 month pregnant wife loves it too.
2004 Avalanche
Very good ride quality when compared to pickups - especially over rough surfaces. Hydroboost brakes big improvement over '03. I use this truck as a daily commuter and as a recreational vehicle for hunting, camping, etc... Interior refinement is required - maybe the next generation will put it on par. Overall, the most versatile SUV/pickup on the market.
Go Avalanche!
Great car with a very good ride. Beats the ride of Tahoe by a wide margin. Very comfortable with many applications and adaptability. Leather seats should be leather. Way too much vinyl for the price. Bose sound system is a joke for the money. Infinity in Mitsubishi's SUV blow it away.
