Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsWith traction control disabled, it's fairly easy to find just the right amount of wheelspin for an aggressive launch. Upshifts are noticeably crisp, but not jarring. I detected a slight torque-steer effect, but, again, nothing objectionable. This Cadillac sounds like a muscle car at wide-open throttle. Is that good?
Braking ratingAverage
Braking commentsLess nose dive than one would expect from a large front-drive car. Those MR dampers work. The pedal offers good feedback without pulsing or humming under full ABS stops.
Handling ratingGood
Handling commentsConsidering the 61/39% front/rear weight distribution, the DTS provides a fairly balanced feel around the skid pad. Also, the MR dampers do a remarkable job keeping the car flat.
