X6 Owner for 7 years
I bought my 2015 X6 Xdrive i35 brand new and overall it has been a great car and very fun to drive. It has been reliable, sporty, and sure footed in a wide variety of driving conditions (dry, snow, rain, ice, etc). The Xdrive system works very well and inspires confidence. Also, my wife and I love the sporty look. Like all cars, this car needs regular maintenance, new parts, and repairs every so often. Nothing outrageous. I saw a post about rusted out brakes on a car with low miles but rust does not care how many miles you drive, it cares about time since the rust conditions began. Overall - reliable and not a money pit. The seats are a bit hard/uncomfortable but I think BMW has worked on that in later models (they sent a LOT of surveys to me for the first two years trying to improve the X6 - which I liked - BMW cares). The overall technology was great until December 31, 2021, when 3G was phased out. BMW no longer supports the remote functions of the 3G X6s (through 2016 model year) so several fun and helpful bells and whistles no longer work. Bummer. But the car is still a blast to drive, safe, beautiful, and reliable. The technology system is intuitive and easy to use. We are still very happy with it. No car is truly future proof but I would like to see BMW offer an option to replace the 3G equipment with 4/5G equipment. Highly recommend.

My first X6!
Have owned 3 X5's, a 5 series and a 3 series over the years and have always wanted an X6. When I saw the new design I had to have one. Ordered the dark olive directly from South Carolina. Only took 3 weeks to get it after ordered. Love everything about it! Now, if you have kids and you need more space for traveling etc. then this isn't for you. I drive the car primarily and my wife and I have already taken trips. It's the perfect fun vehicle for a middle aged empty nester like me.

I disagree with Edmunds
I like Edmunds expert reviews but respectfully disagree with those of the 2019 X6. I owned and leased most of BMW's models. The X6 is one of my top favorites. I find some expert reviews tio be subjective as reviewers review the X6 as a typical SUV while it is a performance SAV designed to be a sporty coupe. A good example is the criticism of the cargo space although the X6 has an ample cargo space. Reviewers can say the same about SUV's with 2 extra 6 and 7 seats.

SAV that thinks it’s a sports coupe.
BMW took the DNA of its 3/4 series coupe and imbedded it into the X6. The vehicle drives like it’s a coupe, handles corners and curves like it was born on the track, the weight balance gives a solid and trustworthy interaction with the machine and the driver. If you want the room of a four door car with the height of an SUV but the performance of a BMW coupe you have it all in the X6.

Great car, fun and unique
I love my X6, it stands out in a sea of cars that all look alike. Has plenty of power with the V6 option but a gas hog nonetheless. My wife has a 540i and always makes up reasons to take my X6. It’s bold and strong. Sporty yet Comfortable. Bluetooth is frustrating, Aux doesn’t always work, and Apple Car Play only works when it wants; dealership has yet to figure out how to fix. Other than that, I love it! I taught my 16 year old how to drive on it, and now when she borrows it, and i watch the car drive away, i have to admit, it’s a good looking car.
