I owned a Honda Clarity Plug in Hybrid and consistently got 30 or 40 miles of range on a plug-in charge. I bought a 4 year old X5 40e and I am only getting 9 miles. The furthest I ever got was 12.9 miles...without using any AC or heat! If it takes 5 hours to charge, I am not sure if it is even worth the electricity to go only 9 miles.
I had the BMW dealer check and all the battery … cells are fine, even though the warranty expects you to get 30 miles, they say they can not do anything because the batter is working properly....
