Best in Class - Perfect for the tech geek
I agree with Edmunds review of the x1. I drove all the competition in this class (Mercedes, Audi, Lexus & BMW) and the x1 checks all the boxes. Tons of extra high-tech goodies that you’ll be discovering long after you’ve taken one home. I agree with the mild noise and ride comfort issues, but the other manufacturers had the same issue, and the Mercedes GLA was much worse. We’ve had the x1 for for just over a month and are very happy with our choice. Shout-out for the totally wireless Apple Car Play that was not available in this class from any other luxury manufacturer - it sealed the deal.

Great performance, worst seats
High- great BMW styling; LED headlights; exceeds estimated mpg; handles like a sports car even in econo mode; generous cargo space. Lows- seats are very hard, worst BMW seats I've ever had; lacking BSM safety feature; braking not as good as previous X1 models; no Android compatibility.

Ohhhh Yeaaaa!!
Gotta say, this was and is a very fine performance car. It handles so well. It wants to please you with acceleration, cornering, technology, comfort and eye appeal. Need I go further? Ok, it sticks to the road wet or dry, eases you back as you accelerate and makes the 2nd lane on the highway a place to sprint or cruise! Not to be to direct but the German's know how to engineer and build a fine tuned car! Everything is designed for performance and functionality with subtle eye pleasing lines and surprises! Think we have become BMW owners for life!

My first BMW...loving it!
I’ve had my new 2020 X1 for a month. It is everything I was hoping for and much more. Clearly the best vehicle I have owned. I am a very satisfied customer! Thank you, BMW!

love it but old technology
We leased this BMW because it was their least expensive lease. BMW always does this. Even if the MSRP is higher, they will offer different vehicles with lower leases since they don't have a lower priced vehicle. Now they have the 2 Series Gran Coupe, but as of right now, the X1 lease is still less where equipped identically. The X1, X2, and 2 Series Gran Coupe are all based on the same platform. So plan that the X1 will have the most rear seat room and rear storage followed by the X2 and series. Our X1 has the PDC and rear camera which are welcome must-haves. The rear and rear quarter visibility is MUCH better and safer than the X2. Since we have both, the rear seat room is the same in X1 and X2. It's the rear storage that is much more in the X1. Since we already had an X2 with sport seats and 19" wheels and since we wanted to save money, our X1 has 18" wheels and no sport package. It rides much softer this way and is easier to get in and out of. It also has the heated steering wheel which we love. It is excellent all-around and we use it for all of our errands. Really feels like a BMW. We HATE that it doesn't have blind spot detection or rear cross traffic alert. The front crash alert is a joke and only a toy. Even in the most sensitive setting, it only provides a dim red light on the dash and way too late and close. Totally useless. There are Nissans with AWD that are half the price that come with all these features and much more as standard. We heard the new 2-series Gran Coupe has more features. We also heard the next gen X1 and X2 will have them. Unfortunately we now have an interior rattle coming from the right side. We had another one that they attributed to a loose bolt in the sunroof track. Now we have another one that the dealer has not been able to isolate. I'm sorry but this should not happen in a $46K vehicle. Something is loose, out of place, or not tightened down properly hidden somewhere in the right side front passenger area. We hear it every day and it is scary that the dealer would have to take apart the interior to try to find it which could make things worse.... In a design that's been around since 2015, we hoped they would have gotten rid of all the bugs by now. Otherwise, although this is an older design begging for an update it is still quite excellent as an every day vehicle. Excellent ride and sporty feel. Great performance that other companies continue to try to copy. This is the original and is still obviously a BMW. Just a note, we will NEVER get a daily driver again without rear cameras, PDC, blind spot monitors, and rear cross traffic alerts.
