Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration comments Deceptively quick, this engine is so smooth it doesn't seem that it will power this 3 to a 14-second quarter-mile time. Launch: 4,700 rpm with some clutch-slip.
Braking ratingVG
Braking comments Typical reassuring BMW brake pedal performance. Nice, solid response on every stop -- distances shorten as heat builds. Nice.
Handling ratingVG
Handling comments So much info through steering! Even the entry-level 3 Series has it. Excellent grip, too. So much compliance combined with sharp steering response and body control, the 3 Series is truly a class leader when it comes to handling.
