Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsWhen using brake torque, there's a big surge of acceleration off the line, then things become anticlimactic very quickly. Sport mode makes a big difference in elapsed time. Power delivery typical of a modern diesel.
Braking ratingGood
Braking commentsPedal fairly soft but fade in stopping distance not reflected in pedal feel, which remains fairly consistent.
Handling ratingGood
Handling commentsSkid pad: In both tests, having stability "off" means it's only easier to get into a situation where ESC will significantly intervene. Might as well leave it on. Slalom: Little roll stiffness means it's easy to "wind up" Q7's suspension, which means easy stability control intervention. Still, this is a well-mannered SUV.
