2017 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S 2dr Coupe (5.9L 12cyl 7AM)
I’ve owned many performance cars; won’t bore you, except to say the range goes from ‘70 AAR Cuda to 911 Turbo/R Turbo. Now, it is this Aston. Yes, it’s a manu-matic 7 speed. I hear folks talk about the pure manual, throwing buckets of shade on my shifter, but I doubt many have driven both and fewer still have mastered the auto (myself included). It is a peculiar device with no less than … three ways to actuate your shifts. If you bother to read the owner’s manual and speak with someone that has experience with it, you’ll find a wonderful learning experience and lots of laughs as you realize you can make it sound and act like a manual, or make seamless, smooth changes, or just knock yourself into next Tuesday. People don’t slowly turn their heads upon spotting the visual erotica it is; the heads snap around like spring loaded dolls. Yes, the engine is like listening to a long, satisfying orgasm from a beautiful woman and a feeling of undeservedness overwhelms your head as you downshift, just because you can. I don’t drive it as frequently as I’d like to, but that keeps the experience at full boil each and every time.
