Hey Guys, After finding this forum when experiencing this exact problem I was extremely happy! Big question though... While researching the part, I found a pre-2000 to 2000 solenoid, and a 2001-2005 solenoid. Unfortunately the parts site, does not show actual part numbers, so I can not tell which is which. (I own a 2000) - For those that have ordered and/or replaced this part, was the number different than posted ... Read More

Whomever has doubt about the off-road capability of Montero 2003-2005 ( I mean serious offroad) Car and Driver Television just had an episode Last weekend in Spike TV channel. They rated the following 2005 SUV models in chronological order ( as #1 is the best) for their performace in offroad and on road. 1. Jeep Cherokee ( some points though the front was hitting the skid plates.. it won for HEMI ... Read More

Let's make sure that we compare equivalent cars here... If it's a used LTD 4x4 Endeavor we're talking about for less than $20K then I'd definitely consider it but chances are it's an LS. Recent Monteros are always loaded and are now most heavily discounted new Mitsubishis. If I were to get one I'd go for a new 2005 (just shy of $30K before TTT - $7K off the MSRP). Used ... Read More

Whoever is thinking to buy the NEW Montero/Pajero should do this by this year as this great SUV is going to be discontinued with the 2005 model production ( which is available to dealers now). Here is the news blurb for future replacement by Edmund's -   It's believed that Mitsubishi will be introducing a seven-seat version of the Outlander for the 2007 model year. Part of the appeal for Mitsubishi ... Read More

  • Montero not going away yet but the Sport is...

I'm sure there will be no changes to the 2005s. Keep in mind that you'd have to wait until the second quarter of 2005 to get one anyway. Your quoted price is very good for the current $1000 rebate but just wait until September - it should get a lot more interesting then. The whole company is a giant orphan now with record-breaking slow sales due to its financial troubles, terrible ... Read More

Any changes for 2005? Or will they discontinue? I was just quoted $29,900 for a 2004 Montero (no dvd) last night. None in stock, but the dealer says that Mitsubishi is looking to unload some Monteros quickly. Any thoughts? I love the truck, but I am concerned about the "orphan" image if it is in fact discontinued.
