  I have an automatic 2006 Ford F150 Lariat that I recently purchased. I'm having the same issue that it seems some others have had (below) but I don't see a solution listed in the thread? Anyone know what this might be? "While driving it today I heard a noise that sounded like I was dragging something underneath it--think shopping cart or exhaust system. I pulled over and everything appeared fine."

  I have a 2006 f150 with 80,000 miles. the trani just went out. Have not heard from ford yet on what the issue or cost is. but I could not believe I would lose a transmission at 80,000 miles.

  I would change the transmission fluid asap. Check and see if their are metal shavings in the pan and filter. This would tell if the bands and clutches are bad.   Gary, Just had my 2002, F150 with 60000 miles lose the "Sun Gear" (weld broke) this in turn destroyed the clutches, Torque converter, and Overdrive. All total a bill for $2,100 for a new Transmission. Not sure if this is a common problem with this Trans, Just trying to get some feed back before I write a letter to Ford about it.   Absolutely jvos. Ford pays for any cash incentives on its vehicles and they should have no impact upon your ability to negotiate the price of the vehicle that you want. Shop around and negotiate the lowest possible price that you can on the F-150 that you want, stipulating that any available cash incentives should be deducted from it.
