Cadillac CTS Engine Problems

  • Oil Consumption Cause Finally Found?

    Written by: gm_bigot on Sep 23, 2011 10:46:51 AM

I was out on another Cadillac forum and I read a posting from a guy who has a 2005 CTS that was burning a couple of quarts every 1000 miles or so. This guy obviously knows something about cars because he made a modification to his PCV vacuum tube (don't ask me to explain what he did), and apparently the engine no longer drinks oil. So that got me looking around ... Read More

Any time, autoboy19. You definitely can lease this car for 24 months. GMAC's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2010 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are 0.6% and 63%, respectively. I haven't heard anything about the conquest cash lately. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

That's a very good question, qpmicro. I know that GMAC's current base lease rate for a 36 month lease of a 2010 Cadillac CTS is 0.8% and that GMAC's current residual value for a 36 month lease of a CTS-V with 12,000 miles per year is 50%. The problem is that the 2010 CTS-V is not eligible for most of the incentives that are available on the CTS. It will be ... Read More

I agree with you that there should be a performance CTS between the CTS DI and the CTS-V. Even if the V6 could be bumped up to 350HP, that would be enough for those who want a little more than standard, but don't want the cost, MPG insurance, etc issues of the V. Seeing no dealers stocking the FE3 option, there must not be much of a demand for more performance ... Read More

  • why?

Why is there no CTS between the 3.6 DI at just over 300 HP, but only 273 TQ and the CTS-v at 500+ HP & TQ?? Or [ perhaps more relevant ] why shouldn’t there be? Particularly with the demise of the ‘other’ V8 RWD GM Sport Sedan – the G8 GT that I now drive – there really seems to be an opportunity here for Caddy to further expand the ... Read More

Mark, I would look for magneride to be available on the CTS-V or later be available. Next time I talk to Cadillac I will offer it as a product suggestion. Cadillac, has said they worked hard to get the suspension right. The G8 GXP/GTX based off the Holden Commodore HSV will have Delphi's Magneride system and it's adjustable FYI. ;) This should perhaps give us a clue that it might be ... Read More

  • New Caddy web site and 2006 CTS-V

    Written by: sevenfeet0 on Sep 15, 2005 7:40:56 AM

A few notes... The new Cadillac web site is awesone. Great job to whomever did it. It's generally well organized and easy to find what you want. The broadband movies everywhere are a great enhancement. I notice in the 2006 CTS-V pictures that there is an exterior photo showing a wheel that isn't offered as an option. It's a pretty cool looking wheel compared to the standard CTS-V one. Does anyone ... Read More
