One reason I bought this car was because it qualified for full EV federal and state tax credits. The car is totally manufactured in the US qualifying it for the full $7500 federal tax credit. It will be gone under Trump. I leased the car because I exceeded the income limit. By leasing the vehicle, the dealer gets the tax credit but they passed the savings on to me. I also love … German engineering. Not so sure about US manufacturing as the 2023 model was recalled 7 times and in 2024 there was a 3-1/2 month pause in sales because of a recall to fix the driver door handle which could cause the door to open unexpectedly. The car handles perfectly. I have driven it in the Mountains in Colorado and in the snow. The AWD system smooths out the icy and snow packed conditions. The technology is a bit daunting for me (I'm 78). I have to "trial and error" a lot of it. It's a bit tight to get in and out of for this old body, but once your in, it is very comfortable. I love the remote climate control system in the recent below zero cold snap.
