Great Inexpensive Vehicle

1999 Pontiac Bonneville
I have a 1999 Bonneville SSE and it's about as great as an 18 year old New England car can be. Salt on the roads has put some rust on the wheels wells and rocker panels, there's fade on the hood, fuel lines have rotted a bit, but no major repairs after 125,000 miles. The 3.8L V6 with the 4-speed is smooth and very reliable, ask any mechanic. Fuel economy is a bit low but it's a big … car, and very roomy and comfortable. Interior has held up ok, GM interiors from that era had some quality issues but aside from some rips on the drivers seat everything works perfectly and looks alright. Heat takes a little while to heat up. Parts and maintenance are inexpensive, and existing Buick GMC Chevrolet dealers often have parts in stock. Based on the Buick LeSabre/Oldsmobile Aurora but more performance oriented. Steering is big car good, not too hefty and not too much understeer for a FWD. Decent in bad weather with good tires, though I wish it had 4-wheel disc brakes. Acceleration is very good and exhaust makes a great note. Transmission is smooth, some clunking when changing from first to second but nothing too out of the ordinary, it is 18 years old. Would recommend for anyone needing an inexpensive car to have around.
