2011 Mazda Tribute
I bought this Mazda because it was standard and it was in my affordability range, I test drove a few other cars including a RAV4 but when I got to this one it reminded me of a more refined Jeep CJ7, my very first car in 1985 I always promised myself after destroying many vehicles by rough and tough Texas living and many friends with ranches, that after I lost that jeep I would eventually … purchase another one, well they've gotten a little proud of what I think has been compromised in the way of quality they certainly are not simple Flathead 4 cylinder engines which brings me back to my choice for the tribute once I drove the car I realized immediately that I was driving computer injected not driving by wire this allows the operator to feather the gas instead of pushing it to the floor to get throttle response, the fuel injection is smooooth and personally I started out disliking the car in comparison to many others however in the five years of ownership and actually as soon as I learned to drive the car unlike cars from the '80s and I've always owned older cars my last was a 1993 I like the older models the engines are easier to work on parts cheap and no computers so this was my first big boy car purchase with warranties and all the like the only thing I will say is Mazdas like to be driven driven hard not destructively not sport driving but don't leave them sitting for long periods of time that's where the service department kicked ass and kept me as a customer for the next 3 years after we got some of the simple things fixed from the app for mentioned sedentary existence of the car post purchase by the dealership, a few things got worked out and for the last 3 years besides staying on top of my maintenance schedule not a single problem eventually I'll need a new clutch but I just rolled over to 100,000 miles and I must say the car is one payment away from mine and feels brand new I kept it that way to have equity and now I just might keep the car it has grown on me quite well and replaced the thought of another Jeep they're too freaking expensive for what they are and now I have a very efficient, dependable paid for Mazda with redundant parts available at affordable prices should I need them so far so good knock on wood thanks Mazda I almost bought an RX8 the other day when I was in getting my free inspection thanks again. I truly love the visceral experience of driving a car and Mazda still delivers that with bare bones stock delivery on everything you need and nothing you don't the auxiliary system looks well and works with your phone if you need it to and you can add any technology to the stereo roof rack great stock stereo great ignition has been a little weird since I bought the car but it always starts eventually LOL it's the Jeep of refinement that I never had but now I do so next month when I was going to sell it or use it as a trade in now I'm going to give it one heck of a car wash and buy it's car cover
