2015 Lexus LX 570
I’ve driven many Tahoes, Suburbans, Expeditions, etc. This suv is in the same size class and is exponentially more interesting to drive. It’s not as “fun” as a Porsche Cayenne, but it can handle its own on curvy roads and the V8 is more than enough to get you through busy traffic if you wish to do so. Off road is where this vehicle shines, of course. It climbs Rocky terrain and hills … like nobody’s business. Where other suvs would struggle, the lx climbs like the hill is not even there. You would really have to present it with a challenge for it to get stuck and I haven’t found one yet. Having taken mine on overlanding trips, passes, and other cross country trips, this thing does it all. Very smooth on the highway, so much so that rear seat passengers WILL fall asleep.
Also, very very reliable. I’ve only had to deal with regular maintenance items... fluid changes. That’s it!
UPDATE: Been using my LX to tow a 5000 lb camper the last year or so. Still going strong. Great vehicle. Terrible gas mileage but I don’t care about that, though it may be relevant to some buyers so mentioning it.
UPDATE: Still a fantastic vehicle. I really love this car. I get bored of cars easily but this car has made me wish for nothing. I feel just as special driving this car since the day I bought it. It really is something unique. Also, the car has been flawless. Oil changes only. What a dream to own.
Update 03/20/23: Still a great car. I usually switch cars every 3 years or so but it will be close to 4 years with this behemoth and I just love it. I can’t see myself trading it in for any other car in tge next 5 years. It feels irreplaceable. Just an awesome rig!
