2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L
Test drove this vehicle and it was overall well executed and priced about right compared to it's peers. My one notable gripe and the thing that's likely going to keep me from purchasing one is the powertrain options. These are the same V6, V8 and transmissions available on our 2012 Durango which is coming up on a decade old now. The V6 does OK but it's underpowered when compared to a lot … of other 3rd row SUVs and especially when it comes to torque. The V8 offers a nice chunk of torque but doesn't really motivate the vehicle a whole lot more and the gas mileage is POOR at best. Jeep takes the time and effort to finally develop the 3-row SUV many of us have always wanted from them then simply slides in a 10 year old engine? No updates, retooling, turbo-charger? Seems like a major oversight to me. If I want to feel the rush of a Pentastar 3.6L V6 in an SUV I'll just pull our 2012 Durango out of the garage.
