Buyer Beware!

2019 Jaguar I-PACE
Buyer beware…my 2019 I-Pace blew up! I purchased my 2019 I-Pace in February of 2020. From day one, the car would not hold a charge. The car was delivered to me, left the dealership 100% and within 60 miles the charged was already down to 40% charged. I had the car in the shop several times from February to June, with no solution. I scheduled the car to go back into the shop in June, but … in the meantime I left for a trip and parked the car in the airport covered garage. 5 days later, someone walking by the car noticed smoke coming from under the hood and alerted airport authorities. The airport fire department responded. They used a heat sensor on the car and found a hot spot. When they opened the hood to shut off the battery, the car exploded into flames. Other than an apology call and an offer for free stay at the Lo Posada in Santa Fe (where I live!), I have received NO support from Jaguar International. Jaguar International did called me within an hour of the fire. Not to help me, rather to say they were there to help, but in fact they were doing damage control. They played me. They asked that I work with them, which I did. They asked questions like why did I have my back seat down. From moment 1, I complained about the batteries. I gave them all zero’s on the satisfaction surveys. The only thing they cared about was their image. The car is beautiful, but like Tesla, which does stand behind their product, there are battery issues. Buyers should be aware before they step one foot into a Jaguar dealership, Jaguar doesn’t stand behind their product.
