2015 Honda Accord Hybrid
Purchased two weeks ago and so far so good. Fuel economy is around 42mpg --mostly city driving. The fit and finish is pretty darn good for the money. The car is good looking and not a Prius (but has the mpg performance). The only disappointments so far are the passenger side front seat does not have same adjustment capability as driver seat (seat base does not go up or down) and (IMHO) … the Navigation is not intuitive and should be 100% voice interfaced. Nav not worth the money. Perhaps an app interface with Waze or Google maps similar to existing Pandora interface?
Future adds: A rear seat access power plug/usb and rear thermostat for climate control would be nice .
Also a driver seat vibrating lane departure warning would be perfect ....
The lack of trunk space is not too bad. Others have complained about the CVT transmission/motor noise-- It has been a non issue for us. Performance and acceleration are good. Rear Seat leg room is exceptionally good.
Over all we are happy with purchase and look forward to more drive time. Winter traction and over all cold weather performance will be in follow up review....stay tuned.
UPDATE 10/8/2017
Its been over a year and my wife loves the car. Performance in the snow was better than expected. Traction control works well.
Have not reset the MPG computer and it reads 37 mpg over all. Gas mileage is not competitive compared to a Prius etc. No mechanical or electrical issues.
The advertised mpg of 50/45 is bologna. That said --The Accord is still a really great value and a sharp looking car.
UPDATE 4/22/2019
Mileage 31,000.
MPG average varies between 29-39mpg. Have not touched the Mileage computer since purchase of vehicle.. Again overall mpg is nothing near 50mpg. OEM tires holding up well along with seats and interior over all. Factory Battery just bit the dust -- which is not unexpected. Other than that change the oil, rotate tires and put gas in it. We will probably never sell this car..... it will be given to our kids in the next couple of years. Super reliable, safe and good looking vehicle. Highly recommend.
12/10/2020. Mileage 48k.
Mpg is 33 average since purchased. A little hiccup in the windshield well/gutter that is supposed to drain water. Gutter became clogged and water came in passenger front side just under glove box. Took to have repaired-- $600. All carpet removed, cleaned and dried out. TO AVOID this problem open the hood and vacuum out gutter at least 4 times a year. If you do not open the hood , you cannot see half of the gunk in the windshield gutter well. OEM tires have had it. Replaced with Continental PureContact LS- - excellent tire in the rain and way better than OEM in the snow. Very sticky tire. Might be a tad more road noise on the highway. Still very satisfied with the Accord overall.
Update 12/11/2021.
Deja Vu water leaking in through bottom of Glovebox (see above incident). $700 to clean and dry out Accord again. Car has been basically Garage kept since last year leak incident. Decided to offload the car as water issues spooked us. We loved this car except for above. Took it to Carmax and was given an unbelievable high amount for it . Took that and bought a used Lexus ES300 Hybrid. Cost us about $2k to do the switch. Should have bought this car originally. Same as Accord except more bells, Whistles, better stereo, quieter, better ride and more standard safety features. Buy this car instead. 100% worth the money. Unfortunately we will probably avoid Honda products going forward.
