2007 Ford Expedition EL
This 2007 replaced a prior Expedition that had accumulated 362,000 miles on it. This one went 375,000, all trouble-free and it was traded in on an Explorer. The 2007 Expedition had 5.4 l engine and AWD. The interior of this car was immaculate despite dogs and kids riding in it on many trips back and forth to Florida. At the time of trade-in, it ran exceptionally strong, did not use … any oil, and everything functioned as new. The only 'glitch' was some paint damage on rear hatch that was an original manufacturing issue from the day car was made. It was explained that in those years, Ford's metal dies were flaking tiny particles of steel into the aluminum rear hatch panel. That made a sort of "battery' that caused paint blistering over the course of something like 10 years and is a very common problem until Ford fixed the issue after 2012. Other than that, it is amazing how well this vehicle was built and how it looked fabulous right up until the day we sold it. We only got rid of the vehicle because the miles were so high we weren't sure there might be some future issue... but it sure ran well and was trouble free the entire time of ownership. These are truly excellent vehicles and if you can find a lower mileage used one, it can be an exceptionally great value and really dependable vehicle.
