Best Ram 1500 We Have Owned
Had this truck for a year and driven it 12K. We are pleased at the attention to detail that Ram included in the new design. From a total of 5 Ram 1500's, this one is far superior.
WARNING! ALARM SYSTEM IS CRAP
Alarm system on 2020 Ram pickups have no sensors on the back doors of extended cab models. The back glass can be knocked out, a thief can reach in and pull up the lock and disable the whole alarm system without any alarm going off. Any door can then be opened and the whole truck burglarized. Dodge limited with $70,000.00 sticker price and can not keep anything in it now that I was robbed. Contacted Dodge and they were aware of design flaw and just told me tough crap.DO NOT BUY unless you are prepared to spend additional money to another alarm shop.

FIX TWO THINGS RAM
This is a first rate vehicle for so many reasons. But it fails in 2 areas. The heating/air conditioning controls stink. It is either too hot or too cold. The dealer cannot fix. It's either blowing stifling air or freezing air. The 2nd problem is another easy fix. The wireless charger for one's cell phone is cluegy to say the best. It only works with certain models of iPhones. Androids are crap out of luck. RAM needs to fix this! This truck could be world class if they got the engineers who do these 2 items to get it fixed. Probably just freaking software parameters!!! Ps this is Eco Diesel Model. Not included in Trim Type below.

Toyota Believer gives Ram a try!!!
2020 RAM 1500 Laramie Longhorn purchased Summer 2022. I replaced a Toyota Tacoma that I bought brand new and put on 334,000 Miles without anything major going wrong with the truck. Basically did recommended maintenance. I was ready for a bigger truck. Wanted to buy a Toyota Tundra but they had a long wait time for order and the fuel economy of their 5.7 V-8 was a concern. I was told by friends to check out RAM trucks before making my next purchase. So far I am really glad that I did. Good looking truck. Interior of course was just what I wanted and in my opinion GORGEOUS!!! I love the leather and interior in this truck (think King Ranch or 1794 Edition). The ride of this truck is extremely smooth. Ample power with the 5.7 litre Hemi. Fuel economy has been in the 16-17 range for mixed driving. However I get in the upper 18-19's on the highway. I don't drive the truck hard but when you need to go..... No worries!! Ample room in front and rear seats. Controls are easy to access and simple to use. I have the big touchscreen and so far so good -- Love it!! The big deciding factor for me will be longevity of the truck. Switched to a 7,500 Mile oil change interval with no problems at 60,000 miles. Should be fairly cheap and easy to maintain this truck. I obviously have a really good truck to compare my new RAM too, so we shall see. More updates to come!!

2020 Ram 1500 Limited Eco Diesel 38K Miles.....
Love my 2020 RAM 1500 Limited Diesel........ Until the motor went with only 38000 miles. It's been 3 months still no motor. Called RAM directly and they gave me a claim manager. Still haven't heard from them, I called them 2 times and talked to someone who said they will get back to me. 3 Months without my truck, they have had it longer than I have. Not only will they be putting a re-built motor in my truck they have no estimate delivery time for said motor. They have missed 5 back order dates as of now. Be carful of the fine print folks. I purchased a truck with 38K miles and might get a rebuilt motor with 200K on it and this is common practice. So the value of my truck instantly dropped 25%. I have called my claim manager 10 plus times and have never talked to him. On hold for about an hour multiple times and had to hang up. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. No support at all!

Don't buy one!!!
Since Stellantis bought Chrysler/Ram, quality control and customer service has been abhorrent. Driveline on my current vehicle went out in 3 yrs within warranty and they are refusing to pay for repairs. Reps and employees are leaving Stellantis in droves. Buyer Beware!!! Do not buy one of the pieces [non-permissible content removed]!

Crash safety results - 1000% best truck
I had the $67,000 truck for 5 weeks. $8000 down $781. Payments. The truck is wobbly - I ve own only Dodge trucks - but I have rented them all. The ride is smooth but not stiff ! If that makes any sense? The safety : 1000%. I am 5’8 150 lbs. a car was stalled in the fast lane of a 4 lanes hwy - very dark road- 3 cars on the road besides me- I hit that stalled car at 75-80 mph. I never applied the breaks. I walked out of the truck with only small bruises and a bloody nose from the airbag. The other driver didn’t make it ! The truck was totaled, the reason why I put down my height and weight, the airbags extended enough to keep my small frame safe all around me. My feet and legs were not injured at all ! I would prefer to buy the exact same truck. But I don’t have the $8000 deposit & I don’t think the insurance will give me that back ! So I am looking at a Chevy

Most comfortable and techie truck available
The Ram 1500 Limited is a real joy to be in. There is still some tweaking to be done to the Uconnect system, but it's still way better than the competition.

terrible jerky ride
The transmission has a terrible feeling while downshifting from 2nd to first and lunges when upshift from 2nd to first. Rear window is prone leaking as well as the middle brake light as mine did at 10k kms. The MDS or cylinder deactivation vibrates a lot when coasting and under light acceleration and constantly jerks the whole truck when it activates and deactivates. Dealership says its all normal. Last Ram ill own

Ram ECO Diesel, Great Options Gone
Horrible Lag when taking off, So many great options that were Standard on older Rams are now gone on the 5th Gen or it is a option that you can have added for a Fortune, Examples WIFI Hot Spot ,Under Seat rear Storage with Fold down, Bed Lighting the Center console is a horrible design stuff Slides all over and is cumbersome to use with the Stupid Slide Cup holder. The Phone holder in the Console was moved up and My Phone Barely fits now The wind noise when Driving with the Windows up is Unacceptable. I only have 400 miles on Mine so I will update the Review as I put more Miles on it but right now a 55000 dollar Truck is nowhere near the 41000 Ram 1500 I had Before. If I had it to do again I really would of looked harder at The GMC AT4. Well couple years later and only 14000 miles. PROBLEMS... Oil Leaks, Dealerships that only have 1 Diesel Mechanic and he Hoge Poged the Engine back together after Timing cover replacement.(Ganley in Aurora). Missing screws Caps and loose covers it was a mess. Took it to another dealership for the Fuel pump recall and they said it looked like a VERY INEXPERIENCED MECHANIC put it back together. Never again with RAM.

Smoothest truck on the market
I have to say that when you’re driving this truck it’s like being in a luxury car, it is in no way like being in a full size truck except all the room inside. The technology is advanced, but not complicated and did I mention how smooth the ride is? Would definitely recommend the 2020 ram 1500 to someone in the market for a new half ton 4x4, we love ours.

engine roaring out of control
Well it happened again. 2014 Dodge Ram laramie driving down highway at 100kph step on gas to pass and the engine just keeps on exhalerating to 125I kph wouldn't slow down. So kept hitting the cruise off button it finally backed off. Very scary when your truck decides to drive itself. Took it to the dealer they put it on the scanner showed nothing so they sent me on my way. Pretty sad that Dodge only cares about your money. I would have thought they'd report it to the head quarters as I see there are many other dodge trucks doing the same thing. I will never buy another dodge they are unsafe The first time it happened it's only a miracle we are alive. Reported it to all involved and NO ONE give a crap about it. Run from these trucks and this company

Hate the stupid safety features
Can’t back up with the door open (ie hooking up trailer), wont remote start if the hood isn’t latched completely (???), will only run for 12 minutes with remote start, can only remote start twice, radio blares every time you start it even if off. Who asked for all this crap???
Leader of the Pack
Great truck among trucks. Has it all in virtually all categories. Unfortunately, it must wait, as other family priorities take center stage today.
Awesome Truck
Power, Power, Power is all I can say. The ride is the smoothest I’ve ever had in a truck. Love it.

Built to serve
Just bought a 2020 ram 1500 built to serve edition. The interior is top notch. Its a bighorn 4wd by the way. The ceramic gray is beautiful color. It was built to honor the navy. The coil over rear suspension makes it ride like a luxury car. The 5.7 liter hemi v8 has plenty of power when you need it. Havent had a chance to tow with it yet soo not sure on that. The only downfall to it soo far is gas mileage. Averaging 16 miles per gallon but its a v8. Knew it wasnt gonna be good on gas. Im really enjoying it soo far and hopefully i get many more years of trouble free fun with it.

Built to serve
I bought this built to serve edition bighorn back in august. It had 7,000 miles on it. So far soo good. The hemi engine has plenty of power and im getting 18mpg out of it. The built to serve package is a nice touch. Black grille and bumpers with gray wheels. Mine is ceramic gray in color which is a good looking color. The american flag decals on the bed sides is a nice touch. The interior of the ram is by far the nicest of the full size truck brands. I have 10,000 miles on it now and soo far no complaints. Hoping for years of trouble free transportation

Gorgeous and Strong
Really love this truck. Roomy , comfortable and powerful. Mostly wanted it for fishing trips, but have also used it for travel. Seats five comfortably. Sound system is good and media system works well. Only thing I would change is the electronic shift knob.

Off Road Luxury
I have a Rebel with the 5.7L Hemi. It looks like a stormtrooper (white with black trim) and is very well equipped with lots of leather, red accents, giant touchscreen, adaptive cruise, etc. It looks good, is quiet and smooth driving on road and fun to take off-road. The gas mileage isn’t terrible for a 4wd truck capable of towing over 11,000 lbs. but it does only get roughly 16.5 mpg with mostly freeway driving. I travel for work and spend a lot of time using rental cars. It is always a real joy to get back in my Ram when returning home.

When it Rains - The Battery Drains
Rain has been causing the battery to go dead if vehicle is not run often. Replaced the rear upper stop light this week under a recall for water leaks. Last summer the Wi-Fi hub died and may have been caused by moisture as it is mounted on the rear of the cabin behind the seat under the light. Hopefully, the problem has been solved. Other than that, the truck is quiet, comfortable and smooth riding with many great options. The 5.7 engine has all the power to pull the boat while the mileage is better than the previous 5.3 GMC . The infotainment system is very easy to operate and the sound system is great.

Very dependable
Have not had a issue with this truck.
Buy an Extended Warranty!
I purchased a new, 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Edition, 5.7L V8 HEMI, my truck now has 86,000 miles. This past week my Alternator failed and I was told by the RAM dealership service dept. there are 4,000+ on back order within their system, and they had no idea when my truck will be fixed. They did provide me with a loaner, thank goodness. Also, the "fabric" on my dash has pulled loose, looks terrible. I was told I would need a new dash panel to get it repaired, over $3,000! Appears the staples used to hold it in place pulled loose, sure seems like a cheap design with no way to fix it without a whole new dash! I am concerned about what else will fail on this truck and now considering cutting my loses, possibly trading it in on a new Ford truck? I bought the RAM because of the excellent ride but now am having buyer remorse. Moral of the story, buy a good extended warranty when purchasing a RAM truck (I did not and regret that decision)!

2020 RAM 1500 Laramie Diesel
Had this truck for 5 years now, and never had any problems with it. Bought it brand new too. Maybe I got lucky, which feels like after reading all the other negative reviews here. I have put 36,500 miles on her, which is nothing for a diesel. Love this truck and everything that it came with. 12" Screen, Heated and cooled seats, 3-fold bed cover, the beige interior color. The only issue I had is I lost navigation from RAM about 2nd or 3rd year, and they requested an upgrade for couple hundred $ to a new one, but since I use google maps via Android, I didn't care for it. Overall she has been an excellent truck and I would recommend it.

1500 EcoDiesel - Competes w/ Audi as Daily Driver
Coming up on two years ownership with 11.5K miles. Simply put, this is a great truck and it is such a pleasure to drive. Highway mileage is exceptional and I average over 28 MPG on level freeway. It also tows my 8,000+ pound boat with ease. No maintenance problems. I highly recommend the Ram. (Previous) Purchased a 2020 Big Horn (4WD, EcoDiesel, Level 2 Package, LED lights) new, and have put just over 3500 miles on it. Originally intended to replace a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with a new HD to tow a boat, but changed my mind after test driving the 1500 EcoDiesel. I was immediately taken in by the comfortable, roomy interior, the great sound system (Alpine speaker system), the overall build quality, and the quiet, comfortable and responsive ride. Simply put, I can live with this truck as a daily driver; and I often find myself leaving the Audi in the garage to drive the Ram. I am averaging 24.5 MPG (35/65% split city/highway). Equally important, the EcoDiesel produces more than enough torque to pull my boat with ease; although I feel the boat behind my truck more (due to comparative weights) than I did when towing with the 2500. No surprise there; and I think it's a good trade off given the truck's superb ride and the infrequent times that I'm actually towing. Interior storage is excellent; especially the center console and the in-floor compartments in the back. As a negative, the Big Horn dashboard/interior does have some hard plastic pieces that should be upgraded to match the rest of the interior. The Big Horn also has cloth seats, but the material quality is excellent. My paint quality is also very good. Overall, I am very satisfied. Buying experience was marginal; but it also occurred during the pandemic. No maintenance work as of yet; although I did purchase an extended warranty plan through Chrysler Capital.

Almost A Homerun on Safety....
When we purchase a new vehicle... safety is #1! You can replace a damaged vehicle, but you can't replace your loved ones. This is where I am disappointed in RAM management and decision makers. Tehy had a change to deliver a 1-2% Safest veicle and missed it by not fixing a 4 Star Rating on the NHTSA tests. A huge missed opportunity! They also blew it on not getting a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and these combined erros cost them the InformedForLife 1% safest vehicle rating. How could they miss this... well I think it is because the really do not have a good and responsive line of communication from customers. THere is another area they are deficient in: drive train... They need to go to AWD using electric motors at the rear wheels. This coupled with a 40-45 gallon tank would move weight from the front to the read decrease complexity. Going to a TGDI powerplant would also increase efficieny and power. Yet another piece of this puzzle would be to include the most important safety features at all levels. As a new owner I would like these things to be available to me as retrofits when they accomplish them. My model was NOT available on the list so here it is 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Crewcab hybrid V8 5.6' SB w/33 gal tank, sunroof, split tailgate, RamBox etc....

Rock the Ram! 5.7 V8 HEMI
This is my fourth (4th) Ram 1500 4X4 Loaded Limited. Hands down the best luxury truck on the market! Prior to 2009 I was a Chevy truck guy.... After purchasing my first Ram in 2009 I have never looked back. This is absolutely the best truck dollar for dollar on the market.

9 year owner
I previously owned a 2012 Ram Tradesman. Loved it only traded in for a 2020 Ram Bighorn because of the mileage on the 2012. I would have rated this 5 stars if this truck would just stop bucking. I cruise at 43 the. Somewhere between 45 and 47 it starts bucking for 2 mph. Then stops and runs fine. Been to the shop twice and tomorrow is the third visit. May be switching back to a Chevy.

Made a bad deal.
Doesn't have a satellite radio. The console now has 2 instead of 3 cup holders. The console is almost useless. Almost impossible to search the console while driving. It is 1/3 the size of my 2018. Getting terrible gas mileage with the engine. Can't use gears to downshift or upshift with a problem. Removed the rear in-floor cargo holders. Many other things I don't like.
