Best Aurora

I drive 25,000 miles/yr; get 26+mpg; have had one mechanical problem (drivers door handel broke); very quiet after I put Yokahoma tires on it; beat a teenager driving a new SS Camero off the line three days ago; after I got the governor removed west Texas speeds are very comfortable(a Mustang and I did 130-140 for almost an hour); 100k engine tune-up expensive but still runs like new; been using Mobil One and reset the computer when the oil life gets to 25%. Too bad the car was down sized for 2001, new ones just aren't the same. I would have liked to try the car out in Germany I think it would hold its own running the Autobahns, slow lane only though.

Bought it when it was 2 years old with 47000 miles had to change Air compressor twice and replace radiator. Other than that just normal maintenance have a 157000 on it now and still starts and runs great. What really fascinating is that I've never seen a exhaust system last over eleven years and still quiet.

I only dirve my Aurora 7000 a year. Overall this Auto has been an outstanding and really fun car to drive. My on board computer has stated has high as 30.1 highway and 24 mpg in town. It averages 22 and 28mpg. The V8 has all the power you will ever need. I had a little wind noise around the drives door and right passenger rear door, replaced seals and adjusted door and its as quit as a mouse.

Good highway cruiser and town car

Brake rotors had to be replaced at 52000 miles. Radio antenna automation is out and will need repair. For the price it was the best car we could find that had good climate control and a silent and comfortable ride with good front wheel drive traction control for the Colorado icy roads. This is a nice highway cruiser while not being too large for around town driving. We bought an extended warranty (cost $1200) for 100,000 miles from Warranty Direct.

Aurora's are nice..but be very careful when buying one. Northstar engine is notorious for having leaky head gaskets at the back of the engine. they have a GREAT deal of power..but if you ask me, the heads were not designed to take the power. Interior was great. Options were wonderful. Has 174000 miles on it and all the bearings needed replaced at the same time! thermostat is $51!~ Tires are hard to find and expensive! Parts are very expensive..and they hold no resale value cause Oldsmobile is closed and the Northstar has a bad rep. I drove five of these before I found mine.
