Great car!!! Comfort, ride, handling, dependability, power, tight turn radius for big sedan. MPG average around 21 city/hwy. Large trunk (even better if using a temporal spare, full size spare eats up a lot of room). Only real issue of concern was having to replace both rear axles before 30K miles. Mercury allowed poorly heat treated axles to be installed during '93, and they won't pay to replace them. A minor issue is the difficulty in changing the oil filter (tight clearance to get out once unscrewed)

Great car for a college student

I had my G/M for about 4 years during and a little bit after college. I got it with 130K miles and I rarely had a problem. Alternator went bye bye at ~150K miles and I replaced the S-belt at that time as well. I also replaced the starter about a month after that. All work done by me. Very easy car to drive, great car to own. Great to carry people/stuff around for road trips etc. I would own another g/m without hesitating if I didn't mind the size & gas mileage so much. I finally got rid of it November 2007 due to a collection of maintanance items that I couldn't afford. (work cost more than the car was worth)

Marquis GS in Russia

I bought this fantastic car two mounth ago and really felt in love with it! In Russia, even in Moscow there are few Mercurys, and especially Marquis. So you drive through Moscow crazy streets like a king! This car has exellent peformance, super comfort (very quiet at the road) and very powerful AC (yes, our summers are hot - 100 F*). My car's mileage is 89 460, but it has contract motor and new transmition - so like new one. It's very pity thst we have few good roads, and maximum speed limit is 74 mph =( So, i want to say thanks to ford, who made such extraordinary car!

We bought the car as a brand new left and , we had very little trouble with it , I have 146000 mi. on it and never changed the transmision fluid in it but change the oil frequently, whenever I ride in someone elses car, to me there is no comparison, I love it.
