[Music] We're standing from the new Mercedes AMG GL c63 which should go on sale sometime in January or February of 2018 the GLC is already a strong performer especially when we're talking about something with GLC 43 AMG but the 63 is just bonkers to buy turbo v8 that makes 469 horsepower with the regular coupe as well as the SUV version but you go up to the coupe GL c63 s and you have 503 horsepower besides the big giant engines they're also going to do some suspension tweaks steering tweaks as well as some nice little touches on the interior of some lacing stitching and some nice Alcantara is this really necessary absolutely not but that's not to say I don't want to drive one leave a comment below and tell us what you think if the Mercedes AMG GL c63 [Music]

More about the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class is the German brand's entry in the wildly popular luxury compact crossover class. It debuted two years ago as the replacement for the GLK-Class. Along with a more mainstream exterior design, the GLC improved upon its predecessor with a more comfortable ride, improved handling and a cabin influenced by the ultra-luxe S-Class sedan.

Despite its recent introduction, there are few notable additions to the 2018 model. First and foremost are two new models that operate at opposite ends of the fuel economy and performance spectrums. An electric motor and battery pack are paired to the bread-and-butter GLC 300's turbocharged four-cylinder to create the GLC 350e plug-in hybrid.

If limiting visits to the fuel pump doesn't get your blood flowing, perhaps the new AMG GLC 63 will. It eclipses the AMG GLC 43 as the enthusiast's choice in the lineup, with a stonking twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that produces 469 horsepower. The 4Matic all-wheel-drive system (standard on all models except the GLC 300, where it's an optional upgrade over a rear-wheel-drive powertrain) helps put down all that power to the road.

The cabin of the 2018 GLC maintains its status as a class-leading interior with luxurious touches such as genuine wood trim, soft yet supportive seats, solid controls, and a host of standard comfort and convenience features. A variety of optional accessories and packages allow buyers to customize their GLC and ramp up the luxury to whatever level is desired.

In the compact luxury SUV class, it's sometimes difficult to balance decent handling with the kind of smooth ride buyers expect, but the GLC manages both quite capably. The ride quality is among the best in its class, while the handling easily inspires enough confidence through the corners to satisfy the majority of drivers. Of course those who like their crossover to achieve more tracklike performance might want to check out the AMG models with their firmer sport suspension setup.

The base GLC 300 is outfitted with a comfortable and spacious interior and a large number of luxury, convenience, safety and technology features. Buyers who need something extra can tack on even more packages and options, while those looking for greater performance should test-drive the AMG GLC 43 and AMG GLC 63. Whichever model interests you, let Edmunds help you find the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class SUV that best meets your needs.
