Overall Great SUV but some issues

This is a great SUV and very smooth ride. There is one concern that is not trivial as it relates to safety of the vehicle. As we have another comment below from some regarding Breaking and the Dunlop tires. I have experienced the same thing and it really is very bad breaking in snow. In fact , if the snow is slightly more than normal on the road, the car does not have any traction. I am not sure if any one else has experienced the same. As it drives well in other conditions, it most likely are the tires that are major concern. Most likely they hydroplane and that is dangerous in snowy and icy conditions-- > I mean much more than any other average car that I have driven. I hope Lexus takes a note of this.

This beast of an SUV has unparalleled power. It is by far the king of the road with a 5.7 l V8. The elegance and luxury in the cabin is unparalleled and unmatched by any luxury SUV standard! If you can't afford the gas for it, don't buy this one.

Overpriced gas-guzzling clunky dinosaur!

One word to describe this SUV compared to others in its class would be: Overpriced. You are simply NOT getting anything worth it’s hefty tag of $100K! Let’s start with what it is LACKING that SUV’s 1/2 its price have.....NO Lane Assist, NO Panoramic Sunroof or Power Sunshade (manual only), NO Quiet Cabin (I clearly hear all road noise and the super irritating noise of the fans whenever the cooled/heated seats or cabin controls are on anything but low...(no excuse for this CHEAP design), NO Touch Pad screens, NO Color Changing Ambient Lighting, NO Choice of Engines, NO Keypad for phone dialing, NO Easy Interface (I am very good with technology but this thing is a joke), NO Rear USB ports, NO Digital Clock (only a hard-to-read analog one). In addition, it has poor leg room in the third due to bad floor design, Poor Cargo Space due to poorly designed folding seats, and ready for this one???!???...it comes with a car starter, but you only get to use it for ONE YEAR before they force you to pay for their Lexus Enform App to keep it going! NO yearly $300 App = NO Starter!! The drive is so clunky and tipsy around turns that I would compare it to navigating a tall cinder block on lego wheels. Oh, and the split truck is actually a big pain b/c they “forgot” to add power to the lower hatch, so if you have something heavy in your arms, you have to set it on the ground to manually open the dang lower trunk first! The controls are in horrible spots (coffee cups will block the single USB port and phone “cubby”, no other place for your phone. I have to constantly take my eyes of the road to try to navigate through the dinosaur limited options screen and buttons. Seriously, every question I have for Lexus on if there is something I might be missing, is met with a resounding NO! Unless you think it is ok to pay $100K for a vehicle that raises and lowers (no big deal since many other SUV’s do this too), and you’re OK with getting 10MPG b/c they didn’t bother to improve consumption, then save yourself from this headache and buy something else. Anything else.

Slip Slidin' Away!

If you EVER intend to drive in the snow and ice, DRIVE IT on those first. You likely will not buy it. I bought it before the snow flew. In years past, I had driven other LXs on snow and ice and they were great. Thought this one would be even better with improvements over the years. NOT! First, all LX models in the US are shipped with the "optional" 21" wheels/tires. NOBODY makes replacement tires for the size that comes on the car. You are stuck with what comes on it - great in the summer, junk in the winter. Literally the absolute worst tires ever on snow and ice for an SUV. They will not stop this heavy vehicle. When I called/wrote to Lexus to complain about buying a $100k SUV that cannot be safely driven in the snow in Colorado, Lexus was beyond uninterested in the problem. I would not buy this vehicle again, which is unfortunate since in good weather it is very nice. It rides more comfortably than any of the competitors I drove (many) and is much more quiet and refined. The technology is outstanding as is the Mark Levinson stereo (best I have ever heard in any vehicle). The acceleration is very weak though. Definitely not up to par in this class. But it is livable. Gas mileage is abysmal but let's face it, people who buy these cars are probably not terribly concerned with that. Still, it has a relatively small gas tank so I fill it much more than I had to fill my previous Yukon XL Denali (which also got an average of 2-4mpg better than the LX). Since I originally wrote this, I have experience more and more issues with the Lexus Enform App Suite having significant connectivity errors. Really annoying
