LS 430 with European Sport Package

JayMac, 02/21/2004

I absolutely love the car. I chose the Modern package of Navigation, Levinson sound system, reverse camera and 6 disc CD changer with XM satellitle radio as an option. The Premium package with front climate controled seats, rear heated seats, and intuitive parking assist. The e European Sport package with euro-tuned suspension, P245/ 45R18 tires, 18" x 7.5 JJ alloy wheels, and full size spare tire. And finally the Smart Key feature. The car looks, feels and rides incredible. I think I made a great decision in both dollars and reliability choosing this over the S430 Mercedes.

In all my years of driving (I'm a senior citizen) I NEVER thought that I would find a car that would make me happier than my BMW's-----I was wrong. I traded in my '98 740IL for my new Lexus with trepidation. I loved my old BMW---but, finding the new I-drives less than user friendly, I drove the new Lexus LS430 sedan. One look/drive and I was SOLD. My one and ONLY complaint was that I had to wait almost 4 months for delivery---My fault for getting the car of my dreams exactly how I wanted it! Great dealership too!

This car compared to the other TOP of the line vehicles from other manufacturers has more to offer for your money. In comparison to the performance and features that are available at the highest option level of this car, other manufacturers charge a lot more for their comparable cars. Ease of use is and comfort throughout make this my obvious choice and should be the choice of any educated person who is looking for exceptional performance, reliability, and value. The status symbol that this car represents is the intelligent buyer with strong values, goals, and good money sense.

For the money, the vehicle is definetely a great purchase. Compared to its competitors there is no question the 430's ride is equally, if not more impressive than the 745 or S class. Save a few thousand dollars w/o sparing luxury.

The new LS430 is an absolutely fantastic vehicle. My previous car was a Cadillac STS and I was not at all impressed. It was noisy and long trips became uncomfortable in it. I love everything about the LS430. It is amazingly quiet and so much fun to drive. The radar cruise control makes driving on interstates almost effortless. Tremendous acceleration when needed is a great safety feature as well. The fact that this car actually costs a lot less than the Mercedes S500 and BMW 700 series is mind boggling to me.

I've only owned my LS for a few week's but I can't find and problem, and I have looked! The ride is fantanstic! Smooth and comfortable. The interior is nicely done and the seats are comfortable even with long drives. The power and acceleration of the LS is surprisingly quick, and this comes from a sports car fan. In addition, the service I recieved from the dealership and my sales person was 2nd to none. All this, and I have found that the LS has the best "bang" for the "buck", when comparing similar cars in its class, such as the BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar.

Having purchased my '04 Lexus just over a week now, I think I've found the perfect vehicle. The interior noise is very quiet, the motor is so quiet I can't always tell when it's running, the speakers are outstanding, and all the bells and whistles are almost all automatic and run on their own (windshild wipers, cruise, Navigation Sys., lights, etc.)

When entering the freeway, you see an adequate space and you just jump into it, period. When you are in cruise control, you automatically link to the car ahead in your lane and the system keeps your safe assured distance automatically, and warns you when you need to take over. When you are parking, it tells you when you are getting to close. The lights do not get into the eyes of oncoming traffic. It seems to read your mind and then does it. Most fantastic car I have ever seen.

I just bought a new Black 2004 LS430 on 10/31/03. For the 1st few mornings after, I must admit to peeking in the garage to see if it was really there. This car is superb in every way. The car has a EuroSport suspension w/18'wheels. A rearview camera is an entertaining feature as well as the Navigation & MarkLevinson sound system. A SmartKey enables a keyless system to enter & drive the car. With SmartKey, interior & sideview mirrors light up automatically when you simply walk up to the car. Also a big kick is the headturning factor...With style, luxury, power, quality & plenty of toys, this is understandably the highest rated luxury car.

I have looked at the 2003 BMW 745i, Mercedes Benz S Class, and ended up with a great Lexus LS 430. I-Drive on the 745i was a downer for the BMW, Mercedes S Class was too expensive for a lesser car. The 2004 Lexus LS 430 was rated first place is a comparison test in which BMW 735i ranked 3rd and Mercedes S Class ranked last at 6th place. The 2004 Lexus LS 430 is exactly what Car & Driver described it.

Overall, this is a great car. Quality, comfort, features, etc. are right on, for much less money than a comparable BMW/Merc. A few (significant) flaws exist, however; hopfully Lexus will get the message and address these through their dealership support network (many could be easily fixed).

I was looking for a BMW and have been following 530I and 745I for quite some time. I test drove both recently and finally decided to purchase a Lexus LS430. I am a technology guy and appreciate technologies that make sense. Lexus LS430 connects technologies with people perfectly. The ride was excellent even under aggressive driving that I enjoy. You can only admire Lexus for their extreme attention to details.

After comparing price and quality, we decided to get Lexus LS430. Later we read in the Car and Driver magazine comparing it with all other luxury cars, they also rated LS430 the best in its class. The drawback is, there is too many electronic gadget that I doubt if anybody could make the full use of. We purchased extended warranty just in case the electronic stuff go haywire.

2004 Lexus LS430 is worth all and more than paid. Does it all and in excellent fashion. Only problem area discovered is the nav software. Keeps taking me somewhere near my destination but not exactly, as my 2002 Lexusdid. Lexus says they went to a different software company and many such complaints are being received. Expect a fix soon. The system also has problems selecting routes that are best (Fastest or Shortest when selected). Otherwise, I'mm thrilled to have this car. Looked closely at MBZ and was impressed with exterior styling. Price was not deciding factor. I made the right buy!

Thought I was going to buy a low mileage 2003 540i. Pretty to look at, very fast, but surprisingly rough ride, noisy; felt somewhat crude, like a 4 door version of my first car, a 5 spd Mustang GT. Drove the LS430 the next day. Like upgrading to the Ritz Carlton after staying at a rustic ski cabin! So smooth, refined, quiet. Effortless speed, with graceful throttle step-in. Made me feel upper class, like a king. SOLD!

brilliant execution on luxury genre. almost impossible to fault. As far as I can see it mercedes looks like tyson and lexus is hollyfield. Round by round lexus has begun to wear the feared bully down. Every volley of fire matched by lexus. amazing close quarter combat. Lexus seems unfazed by a series of high tech blows. Lexus seems to absorb evrything techno benz can throw.

I've owned Japanese, German and American cars over my 50+ years and have never owned a better car. The new 2004 replaced (traded in) my 2001 LS430. The braking on the LS is phenomenal. The '04 has improved pads and rotors. The six speed transmission gives the car a 0 - 60 of 5.9 seconds and I swear it is actually faster than that. The keyless entry is wonderful as well. It is very, very convenient to keep the fob in your pocket when you open doors and start the car without having to fumble for a key. The adaptive Front Lighting System (headlights aim where you are going) is great. This is an incredible Driver’s Automobile.

i wish that the voice control system for the NAV and climate would learn my commands a little bit better. I also wish that there was a options package level between the custom and luxury setting that would sacrifice some of the backseat improvement and still leave some of the performance features. But, these are pretty picky items in an almost perfect car. If your're having a mid-life crisis...get hair plugs and a Ferrari...If you want a wonderful ride in a car that is very comfortable, fun to drive and reasonably prices, buy a LS $#)

Lexus seems to have the perfect luxury car recipe for people who are not satisfied with Cadillacs/Lincolns (too soft) or BMWs, Mercedes', or Audi's (too edgy). This car has every conceivable comfort feature on the market today, and it is very user friendly as compared to the German makes. If you are seeking the ultimate driving experience, pass on this car. If you desire an extremely reliable, user friendly, automobile, then the LS belongs in your garage.
