Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsAny advantage from brake-torquing can't be seen past 60 mph, and we don't know why. This 3-ton truck is fast! Linear power all the way up to 6,750 rpm redline. Quick and smooth upshifts, authoritative bark from exhaust and noticeable intake honk.
Braking commentsGood, medium-effort pedal feel. Some body dive under braking but not shockingly so considering long suspension travel. Good fade resistance, but there were some smoldering brake bads after braking from five quarter-mile passes. Good performance considering vehicle weight.
Handling commentsSkid pad: Stability conbtrol is tuned to be very conservative, hence only 0.68g on skid pad. Once stability control switched off, the reins were relaxed somewhat, but not much. Slalom: Agonizingly conservative stability control with no measurable difference in results when stability control is on or off.
