give it a little time
we found the kia to be very nice compared to some we test drove. also the dealer has jumped to our every request with no hassle. the only design flaw is a small noise comming from engine area. i even test drove twoo others and the same noise was there. other than that the van is great. i would buy an
Pretty Good Kia Minivan
I am very happy with my 2003 Sedona EX minivan. We purchased it for an excellent price. It is a comfortable vehicle which has transported us from one end of Texas to the other. It possesses a solid feel as you drive it. As long as you remember it's not a sports car (don't gun it!), acceleration from a standing start is acceptable. Fortunately, the seats aren't too difficult to remove.

Rating for 2004 Kia
Wepurchased the van 3 months ago and have put 4300 miles on it. We love it except for the gas milage. It averages 20 on the highway, not the 22 posted on the window sticker. But other than that, it is a super minivan.
Kia Sedona needs help
My Kia Sedona is excellant in design, engineering and convienance. Quality of components, fuel ecomony, exterior finish, and service are terrible. The interior panels rate are poor on impact resistance. The paint finish is full of orange . City is 14 mpg, Buckboard riding tires and an ear piercing noise from the rear air that Kia cannot fix. Complaints to corporate Kia landing on closed ears. I have entered this van for the "lemon law" program. I made a mistake buying this van. If you are thinking of buying this van, I suggest buyer beware
All around Great
I've test driven a lot of Mini--vans and the Sedona is, by far, the best vehicle for the money you spend. I like to buy the best stuff without spending the highest price. I work too hard for my money to not be wise in my purchasing decisions. This was the best decision I've made in a long time!!
LOVE IT
I JUST GOT MY NEW KIA AND I LOVE IT NEVER HAD A NEW CAR BEFOR GLAD THIS ONE WAS MY FIRST
Great price not so great car
Our family bought the van used in 12/07 and already has had internal engine issues and timing chain/cover replacements and found out it has had major engine work previously and it only has 21,000 miles. Almost everything was covered by warranty although it did take them 5 weeks because a certain part had to be shipped from Korea. I think this is not a good running car because of the problems I've had. When the car runs it is all in all a cheap but pretty good van
Very disappointed
I bought this vehicle with 45000 miles. Just 3 weeks after I got it, it went back in the shop for new rotors and struts. Had it 6 months and the catalytic converters went totally out. Had to get those replaced. The air conditioner had to be replaced within 2 mo. The gas mileage is very poor. Might as well be driving a big SUV. Total lemon! I am very dissatisfied with this vehicle and would never step foot into another KIA again.
Kia Sedona
I have had five. No problems. They keep getting better.P
KIA is surprising!
We have been looking at Minivans for about 2 months and have done our research and test drives. If you want to spend way to much money you can go buy another VAN. If you like spending your money wisely, than I would go test drive the KIA Sedona. This packs a punch with it's 5 Star Safety rating and Rear Top and Floor Vents all around the van. All I have to say is that they are packing a punch with this van. I walked out the door with paying $17,000 for a 2004 Vehicle that has a unbelievable warranty.
Momto2Minivan
I can't even believe that I love this minivan. I thought that I would never drive one but who knew that they had leather bucket seats, a moon roof and a great stereo too!
Almost a 10
Have this car for over a year and Im still in love with it. It's lived up to all my expectations and then some. It's easy to handle, great on gas and the maintenance is a dream come true. The only thing that I would change is the positioning of the second row passenger side seat. It should be closer to the door for easier access.
Incredible Buy
I'm delighted to rate this vehicle so highly. I started out just looking for a minivan with high saftey ratings for the family, but I am very pleased with the value and the extras I received with my purchase of the Kia Sedona. I really didn't expect much in terms of the interior, and it could - perhaps - be a bit more stylish, but it is so comfortable! I've sat in all of the seats and can't believe how much more comfortable the Sedona is than my previous minivan (a Plymouth Voyager). The 10 yr powertrain, 5 year bumper-to- bumber, 5 year maintainence, and 5 year road side service can't be beat.
I love my sedona
I couldn't find a vehicle with as much value.
Love my Sedona
This is a very good minivan. I love it and my family loves it too. We love to travel in our new van....Very comfortable for long trips.
Worth every penny
After wrecking a Kia Sephia, I was a little skeptical about purchasing another Kia. This van's safety rating won me over. Not to mention the rebate and the owner loyalty incentives. Too many cupholders to count, I knew about 4 glovebox/storage bins, and yesterday after having the van for a week found 3 more! Am I done yet? The ride is quiet, and the pickup is outstanding. Gas is a little much, but that matters not. Great cd/radio, and love the cruise control.
we love it
We spent alot of time pricing & researching all the different minivans. What it comes down to is you can get just as nice of a van for about $10,000 less than anywhere else! We have now had our van for almost a year & have had no problems with it what so ever...We LOVE it!
Get what you pay for
I bought this vehicle for the same reason everyone else does, the price is great. BUT, BUYER BEWARE!!! The car will work fine, but it will rattle, and other little things will come up. If you can find a service center that is close you MAY get the problem resolved. There is a reason the others cost more money, they're built better. My keyless entry works when it feels like it, the back seat rattle constantly and the noise level is high to beging with. Will never buy a KIA again!
Sedona on Course!
Sedona holds road just fine Interior has lots of goodies including first aid kit under seat. Only problem is fuel consumption. On 1600 mile trip to Fla averaged 15 MPG.
Great Value
My second Sedona. Owned 2002 model. Great value, excellent quality for the money.
Great van for the money
Just purchased our Sedona EX. No leather, but did get the moonroof. Lots of interior room, fits in the garage, perfect for our family of four, sports and school bags, wetsuits, surfboards, groceries, etc. $200 portable 7" DVD player from Costco works just fine, no need to spend $1200 for a factory-installed system. Nice, solid feel to it, strong engine, shifts smoothly, captains chairs with armrests are great, factory tinted windows, pop out rear windows, reclining seats, etc.
Disappointed
I am disappointed with the 2004 Kia Sedona. Very poor gas mileage, about 12 mpg in town. Quality is poor. Rear hatch has a 'clunk' sound when opening and the windows have the same when when closing. The bench seat in the middle is a big hassle. Dealer said the middle and rear seats are interchangeable which they are not. I will not buy another Kia.
moms bus
I have traded my mercury villager LS for this Kia Sedona ex. I love everything about it except for the blind spots and gas mileage. this van has a lot of power, very comfortable. this is wierd but I get better gas milage when I use the techron. any other gas I get poor mileage on it. thanks to edmunds I got this van for 18,000 before taxes and lic. fee!
so far so good!
great mini van. for sure better than any american built. dont compare with hondas or nissans. but they dont have nearly as good a warrenty
Great Value & 10yr. 100,000 warantee
Better ride then I thought possible in Minivan after driving others. Plenty of power. Price that can't be beat.
Rust / Corrosion Problem on my Sedona EX
Rust appeared on the hood of our 2004 Sedona EX about 2 years ago. It started as small pimples/spots below the grill both on the inside and the outside. The cost for repair is $1102.64 and their offer is that we each pay 1/3! Dealership 1/3, KIA Canada 1/3, customer 1/3. I also only have a limited time to accept this offer? They insist that this is an isolated problem, even after I sent them pictures of 5 other 2004 Sedona vehicles with identical rust marks and a promise to send more. Also please be aware that if you do have a Sedona around this age make sure you insist that they check the REAR COOLANT LINES. These are also starting to rust out.
Dependable Transportation
I bought this van in sep. 2005. It has been pretty dependable. I have 57000 miles and other than routine maintenance and brakes I haven't had to do a thing. Gas mileage is O.K. for a van (low 20 mpg). Roomy if you have kids.
Most practical vehicle I have ever owned
Have owned luxury vehicles and several trucks; the minivan is the most practical, and one of the most comfortable overall, I have ever owned. I am sold on minivan ownership; it can be a luxury car most of the time, then when necessary remove 2 rows of seats, and you have a truck with more space than my Ford Ranger 4x4, which I also was very fond of.
Value
Satisifies the basic criteria - Ride is very smooth, engine is responsive, brakes well, comfortable on trips, decently carries a family of 6, nicely equipped, and reasonably priced.
xx
Lots of towing power
very unhappy
I have driven many minivans, most drive more like a car. This one feels more like a truck. Vibration at low speeds and an engine hum all the time. Pick up isn't very good. Turning radius is very poor, but above all gas performance is extremely bad; like 13 miles to a gallon. I wish I would have paid a little more and gotten another brand.
We love it
It's great! Very sharp looking. The performance is wonderful and the ride is very smoothe compared to the Explorer Sport that we traded in. We got one with a rear seat entertainment system and the kids love it. The system includes wireless headphones for the dvd player. There are only a few things I wish were different. First, the gas mileage is not great. Second, the rear seat headrests partially obscure the view out the rear view window. Third, I wish there was more cargo room in the back when all the seats are installed.
Kia Sedona, the perfect minivan
I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. It's almost a year i'm driving the Ex model. The vehicle engine is very smooth and very comfortable and i have made lots of long trips.
We like our Kia
Bought ours 8/2002. Has 43,000 miles on it. In snow and bad weather the additional weight makes for better traction than our lighter Chrysler Van. Down side is the 15 -18 mpg around town. However, it does get 20/21 on road. Up side is that it is one tough van and the safety ratings more than make up for mpg for us.
HanKOOK Tires
I had this car about 3 months and much trouble with the Hankook Tires. Had the vehicle only 3 days and a flat tire. Two weeks later another flat. A Month later the two front tires got flat spots from a normal skid. They had to be replaced. Has anybody had problems like this ???
MPG
I can't believe the mileage I get 14 mpg city. I live in Florida and the ac is on all the time . But I should get better than that . May-be not on second thought . The tack reads 2,500 at 70 miles a hour . My sons car reads 1,800 at 70 mph . When they rev that tight ( 2,500 ) I can't see any increase in mileage . A friend of mine bought a 06 with the same problem. (he got rid of the Kia ). I installed a ne kn filter . Maybe I can get an increase . Going on the highways this week . Stand by .
Only had it a month ...
But I love it. Great value minivan. No ego, no flash, but it's great for the kids and groceries. A little slow to blow hot air on cold mornings, and the turning radius is ridiculously wide. Other than that, no complaints. Purchased Dec. 2005 with 9k miles for $14,500. DVD, sunroof, EX model with ABS.
Excellent car,very comfortable riding
We love our 2003 KIA Sedona Van. Went on a trip and it rode beautifully. You can feel the quality of this vehicle on the road. We averaged about 23 miles a gallon on the trip. We love all the extra conveniences built into this van. Thanks Kia for a great van and very reasonably priced. We recommend this van to all our friends and many have bought the same van especially because of the affordable price. Try it, you'll love it too.
mom and three girls on the go
i feel safe more secure on the parkway, more in conthol. great side mirrors. easy to clean. car seats fit great. and its fun to drive.at the dealer the were great to help us get wahat we thought was best for us.
Kianator
After my first two minivans both of which were Dodge Caravans, I was impressed with the KIA. Our first van, a 1995 Caravan Sport was needed when our twins were born. 2004 brings new requirements for family and fun. Looked at all of them and I focused on the Dodge again. I looked at the KIA for the first time and was impressed. I kept returning to the Dodge dealer to compare the two. The KIA kept drawing me back due to it's quality of build, drive, and safety. In the end, when fairly compared the KIA is the best comparison for features and when the price is factored it, there is no better buy on the market.
I Love My Sedona
Extremely comfortable van to drive and ride in as a passenger...Very quiet, handles very well in windy driving conditions...Has great acceleration...
Awesome
Has all the features of LUXURY autos. I miss the idea of flat seats in the back if I needed them but when would I actually use them when I have 3 kids? So it doesn't really count anyways. The gas mileage is bad but everything else makes up for that!
I love it!
Just traded in my 2002 for a 2004 and have not complaints. Handles well in snow and love the updates in the 2004. Very nice reliable van. Hubby and children do not care for the new grill, but they will get over it. It seems as though Kia has worked out many of the complaints with this model. Think the ripped me with the 2800 dollar dvd system though. I still love it though.
my kia van
very good and comfortable van.cheaper than others and with a lot more features for less of a price.very reliable.love it !!
best mini van on market
The overall design of this mini van was well thought out. There are so many little "cubbie" spots to put stuff. This must have been designed by a mom. Everything is so conveneient
It's a great Minivan
I have had my Kia Sedona for about 9 months now and am delighted with it. Had a "buick century" before but a minivan is much more fun to drive. You sit up so much "higher" and can see the road. Fit and amenities are excellant. Best buy for the money.
The big three better watch their back!
I have always owned GM vehicles and have been disappointed with reliability especially in the pedal bounce that I get after only 15K miles. Of course I would rather have a two seat roadster in the garage but that is not going to haul the things important to me. This vehicle is a great value and a great ride. I am a quality engineer by trade and I looked closely into this vehicle before buying and when you compare the quality (equal or better on Kia) and price, it is hands down the best choice.
I LOVE MY KIA
BELL ROAD KIA TREATED ME WITH RESPECT AND GAVE ME A GREAT DEAL. THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL.THE SEDONA VAN IS A FANTASTIC INVESTMENT.
Luxury on a budget
LX trim has all the features I wanted, none that I didn't want. Sage Green is a nice color you don't see every day. Price unbeatable. Design is so clean and ride is luxurious. Comfortable and fun-to-drive. I'm SO sold on this vehicle!
2004 Kia Sedona
We are very happy with our Sedona. The value is great, and it's an overall awesome minivan.
