2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX-Prestige 4dr SUV AWD (1.6L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 6A)
We originally looked at the 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid and felt the engine was too noisy when asked to deliver power. We drove the SX Prestige hybrid and felt it was much more refined than the CR-V. We came to an agreement on the price but my wife wanted red. We told the dealer to give us a call when a red vehicle came in. This was in February, 2023. We forgot about the vehicle and then … got a call at the end of June that a red SX Prestige hybrid came in. The call came on a Thursday and we were told to come in Saturday morning. The mileage depends on how you drive the vehicle. My wife, it's her car, gets between 30 and 35 miles to a gallon, I get between 35 and 40 miles to a gallon. Considering we were getting about 22 miles to a gallon on the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport the Kia replaces. No gripes on gas mileage.
This Kia is a pleasure to drive. It has enough power, it rides smooth and quiet and is very comfortable to sit in for long trips. Both my wife and I feel this rides more luxuriously than some luxury suvs we have been in.
A friend of our just bought the top-of-the line 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid. He could not believe how much more equipment our Kia had. The Kia has 2 front seat back pockets, the Honda 1; The Kia has the cameras in the side mirrors, the Kia has the 360 degree camera and the Kia came with a spare tire.
We found two minor shortcomings with the Kia. A homelink mirror is not standard. The memory seats are just that memory seats. They do not work with the outside mirrors.
Overall we are very pleased with the Kia SX Prestige hybrid.
