I am very pleased with the car. Very quiet on the road, good but not great acceleration, handles very nimbly, will hold 90 mph with seemingly no effort or noise.

Very reliable car especially the trans and the engine. The trans is very lousy especially with AC on; slow shifting. But engine and trans seem bulletproof. bought at 85k used and changed oil every 12k miles synthetic. Minimum 24 mpg city with AC on and driving mad. Bought brakes and rotors for $40 online and changed myself. Done nothing other than oil changes. Very reliable car but don't expect quality like Toyota. Steering makes clunking noise, had to replace sway bar links, tie rods because of clunking noise over bumps, replaced window switches because it wasn't going down ($20 online, replaced myself), sun visor broke ($50 online), CD is kind of sticking sometimes ( but who uses CD's?). Engine is very noisy not refined like Toyota's. Other than small problems engine and trans is perfect and is good for many more miles. sold car for very low as the resale value was terrible.

This car is well-equipped, and I really appreciate how much attention was given to the detail and accessories in this car. The sound system is fabulous. I would recommend the Elantra as a really nice surprise. Just sit in it and you'll see. Even the dash is attractive. Good job. Hyundai!!

I bought this new in Dec. 2006. I now have 83000 care free miles on it. All that I've had done is routine maintenance, tires, and brakes. Most reliable car I've ever had. It handles like a dream, has plenty of pep. Get 30 MPG with mostly city driving and have had no problems in the snow. It has a very roomy trunk to go along with lots of legroom for front and rear passengers. I don't see how you can go wrong with this car.
