Studied & Compared, Bought 3rd CRV!
This is my wife’s 3rd CRV (‘05 EX, ‘12 EX-L Nav, ‘20 Touring). The ‘12 EX-L went to our daughter with only 74,000 miles on it! Toughest decision for her was color - what poor choices unless you like white, black, silver or a few shades of gray! Why not a sandstone or light green? She picked the Sonic Gray - which is more of a light blue; but had to take a black interior (why not gray?) Other than that, she LOVES the car. It’s clearly larger than the ‘12 CRV because the same rear seat dog “hammock” doesn’t fit in the ‘20 model. This car is significantly quieter than the ‘12 CRV Gas mileage is great; avg is 31; got 36 on a 200-mile trip up the coast last weekend! I was ready to dislike the Lane Keep Assist and other “Smart” features... but they’re actually good! We expect to have this CRV for 10+ years; we know from experience they will easily do this. NOTE: Compared Touring models with 1.5 Turbo & Hybrid powertrains. Liked both - but the math for the Hybrid doesn’t work. Right now, Hybrids are selling at Sticker (if you can find one), but I got an aggressive price on the 1.5 Turbo; difference was a bit over $3,500. Using EPA numbers, in 10,000 miles of driving, you save 82 gallons of gas with the Hybrid. Even if gas goes back to $3.50 a gallon, you’ll have to save 1,000 gallons to break even - which is 122,000 miles. But at that point, the high-voltage batteries would have been replaced, at a cost of $3,000 - $3,500... So the math never works out. (With gas at $2.50, the break-even is 1,400 gallons or 171,000 miles - and at that point, you’re looking at your second battery replacement!) Bottom Line: Don’t spend Thousands to save Hundreds!

Touring Edition an Excellent Alternative
The 2020 Honda CR-V Touring model is the only non-hybrid with LED lights. Note that adding the parking sensors does not integrate with the onscreen like the hybrid model. They have to tear the inside of the car apart and the bumper covers off to add it. Recommend against or go with the hybrid to get the feature built in. 1.5T is more powerful than the standard engine in the 2009 model. Noise abatement is much better in 2020 model. Save yourself about $12K versus an Acura RDX. We own a 2019 RDX with the Advanced option as well unless you need the engine power of a 2.0T. CR-V Touring AWD drives very nicely. Good pickup entering the interstate highway from 50 to 70 MPH. Learn about all of the features and benefits, align to your needs, and drive the vehicle at least 10 miles before you buy one.

Love it but beware when washing your CRV
I recently purchased the 2020 CRV. Love the drive, the features and comfort. However on two occasions while hand washing the vehicle, the hatch would open. Not sure why but I am now concerned about going through a car wash. Anyone have this issue? If so what did you do to fix it.

Almost great if you are all about practicality.
The good: - Good handling and cornering. Although I wouldn’t use the word enjoyable, the car is easy to drive. - Great quality interior. Not luxury, but well crafted and thought through. - Very comfortable seats for a tall adults, front or back. Memory seats are very convenient. - Pretty good fuel economy in stop and go traffic. - Lots of safety and driver assist tech and it works pretty well. - Very quiet interior but the engine noise ruins everything. - 4WD performs quite well in snow with winter tires. - Great looking exterior compared to competition but that’s subjective. - I really like the panoramic roof but appears it’s available only on Canadian models. The bad: - Very underpowered and very loud engine. I find it’s worse than the previous, non-turbo 2.4L. You have to floor the gas pedal and watch RPM go over 5-6K/min to accelerate quickly. Clearly Honda prioritized fuel economy. - Fuel economy suffers greatly on the highway. - I change winter tires myself and jacking points are very inconveniently located: it’s impossibly far on the front and you need something like an SUV adapter for the rear. Honda Canada couldn’t actually tell me what jacking points to use other than what’s used for changing flat tire on the side of the road and the dealership didn’t know either. Come on Honda Canada!! Luckily I found a TSB from Honda USA that tells you to use a rear tow hook as a rear jacking point, which is very high off the ground so you won’t be able to use a typical jack; you’ll need to use something that goes over 18” or has an adapter. 19” tires don’t help either. - “Premium” sound system is loud but not refined. All in all it’s a good choice if you are looking for a practical SUV and don’t mind loud engine noise. I didn’t find infortainment to be overly complex since you won’t be scrolling through options often. Most frequently used functions are easily accessible.
