Best car I’ve owned in 30 years!

2026 Honda Passport TrailSport 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 10A)
Purchased a 2026 Trailsport (non-Elite version). Honda synthetic leather is good enough for me and more durable than the leather in our Odyssey. Standard 9-speaker stereo sounds fine, so for $4000 less I can live without the Bose stereo, ventilated seats, and surround view cameras. Where the two trailsport versions shine is ride quality, especially in the city. They have a softer … suspension and larger tires than the RTL which better absorb potholes and rough pavement. Previously had a Lexus RX. The trailsport has a heavier feel, but rides equally as well. The best way I can describe the difference between the trailsport and RTL versions is the trailsport is a relaxed cruiser. If you want a tighter feel and regularly drive 80+ on the highway, I’d go with the RTL, although you’ll give up the sunroof and will feel the potholes and pavement a little more in the city. The trailsport is best all-around SUV I’ve owned in 30 years - comfortable ride, plenty of storage, smooth V6, and easy to use controls. Gas mileage is as expected for a 4700-lb SUV with a V6. The competitors have switched to turbo 4s that require premium fuel and cannot match the smoothness of a V6. I’ll gladly pay the small difference for gas and appreciate that Honda is still offering a V6 in their larger SUVs.
