    Nothing but headaches.

    2017 GMC Savana Cargo 2500 3dr Ext Van (4.8L 8cyl 6A)
I bought my 2017 GMC Savana 2500 used in 2018 with only 15,500 miles on it. Right from the start, the notorious leaking passenger compartment doors which meant that after a heavy rain, the step wells had water in them. At approximately 23,000 miles, the pinion bearing in the rear differential seized, which destroyed the bearing housing. This meant the entire rear axle needed to be … replaced. Luckily, this was a $4300 job covered under warranty. This was during the peak of COVID shutdowns so I was without my work vehicle for about a month. Next, I had to have the AC control panel replaced. Not under warranty, so there goes $400. Then, I had to have the AC compressor replaced to the tune of $1100. I then had to have the power steering pump replaced for another $700. Now, just after turning over the 50,000 mile mark (50,053 to be exact) it is sitting dead in my driveway because something has gone wrong with the transmission. It is literally dead. Won't move. Period. My van is regularly serviced, and quite frankly babied as work vans go. It isn't overloaded. Isn't abused. Very seldomly pulls a trailer and when it does, they are well under the maximum trailer rating. Keep in mind this is in less than 6 years of ownership and just over 50,000 miles. I had a brand new 2001 Ford Econoline 150, that was a little over loaded and had a 6 cylinder in it and I ran that to 120,000 miles until I got an F250 Super Duty that I traded in on this dog. GMC used to be "the work truck". Tough as nails and dependable. This has turned me off on future GM vehicles in general, which sad, because I love this van. It has plenty of power. Almost 3,300lbs of cargo capacity. The seats are comfortable as well as the ride quality. The only thing I upgraded was the addition of some Sumo Springs in the rear to stiffen it up, as it rode like a boat. Other than that it was great. Them the gremlins started to show themselves. One the trans is fixed, this may be put up for sale, because I can't continue to try to make my living like this. So, so disappointed.
