AutoNation Ford Gulf Freeway
Dealership Sales Review
I was in the market for a new vehicle and a Ford was one of my choices. So as any buyer would do I started my search for a Ford. Four dealers in the Houston area had what I was looking for, one of which was AutoNation Ford Gulf Freeway. I worked with Rigo and Cam. Initially started with Rigo on the phone, but upon my first visit Rigo was off so I dealt with Cam in person. Went through the drill of negotiating, which honestly went well. Terms were met and a few days later I was a proud owner of a brand new Ford. Drove off the lot with 34 miles on the odometer, then 2 days later "Restraint Indicator Lamp Warning" light comes on. I was in the "area" so I figured I would drop by service to possibly see what could be done. Did not get the advisors name, but he was pretty much useless. Informed him of my issue, he goes on to ask did I buy the vehicle from here (really shouldn't matter), he says service is backed up 3 days, car will need to be diagnosed (this can take 2 days), he starts acting like he's looking something up on his computer.... I answer him saying yes, I purchased from here and the vehicle only has 600 miles. He was flabbergasted at this point. So I am like can you get me a loaner and get this resolved. He walks off looking for the loaner pool person, takes 5 steps peaks arnd the corner, person is not there, not sure where they are....At this point I am growing frustrated so I basically walking off and say I will just take it to another dealership. He asks, why? Well you aren't being to helpful and I will take it to a dealer closer to my house. Then asks where do I live? Is that really relevant, but I mention I am close to the Med Center. He responds "oh ok". I walk off, check by chance if my plates are here, of course they aren't and proceed to leave. Reach out to Cam to see if he could assist, since he did sell the vehicle to me. Which was honestly a good experience until this point. I inform if of the situation and ask him if he can assist with getting this resolved and set me up with a loaner comparable to a Bronco. Having faith that this would be resolved and update provided on when to bring the car in, since he said he would get this scheduled for me. Basically a week later and no update. Of course I did not wait on an update, the next day I called the dealer close to me, less than a mile away, Russel and Smith Ford. Called service and spoke with advisor. Explained the issue, no back log, no questions, dropped off on Monday, diagnosed the same day with updates. I was back in my Bronco 24 hours later and issue resolved. Honestly the best service I have had in my lifetime. So yeah other then the initial purchasing process, basically the drive out price. It was the best part of dealing with AutoNation Ford. Other than that I don't plan on returning. Service not even 1 star, Sales is sales, you just want that commission and it showed. Then there is Hugo in Finance, get a better personality. At least do some what of an act of being happy I purchased a vehicle from you, even if all that was given was a cashiers check and personal check. So my rating is no stars, but of course I need to select one. At the end of the day Service and Sales was a disappointment.
