Powertrain warranty transmission was shot under 92000 miles
Written by 02/08/2020
onThe powertrain warranty’ is mis leading. My car had less than 100,000 thousands miles and the transmission started slipping . The dealer power train org did not honor their agreement. My thermostat went bad the warranty didn’t cover it either. Per power train org saying the car was neglected however a year earlier I had a repair that was covered without any issues. I would not recommend this to anyone. I truly believe gm has a transmission issue and I believe I was exploited.

Dealer Response
Our FREE lifetime powertrain protection isn't a bumper to bumper coverage, but it does cover big ticket items such as the transmission and engine (and other components associated with same). IF any customer keeps up with their REQUIRED services per the terms/conditions of the actual coverage/policy (issued by an insurance carrier), and IF the repairs needed pertain to the parameters of the coverage, then the repair is approved - for the lifetime of their vehicle ownership, which is extremely valuable for our customers. We have given this free coverage, on qualifying vehicles (currently the terms are 100k miles or less, 2011 or newer in model year), since 2011 and there are hundreds of happy customers who are driving vehicles that received this assistance for repairs. As far as GM having a transmission issue, we don't build any vehicle, we just service them.
