Suspect Behavior

I have been interested in the Subaru Forester for over a year now. I decided to start test-driving different models to get a feel for what I really wanted. I was already aware that the Napleton Subaru is known for participating in unethical behavior and intentionally lying to their customers. However, I went against my instinct and decided to test-drive a car there. The salesman seemed uninterested in my questions and would blatanly lie about the car's price ("We only have a 6 percent give on price") and about the warranty ("We offer a 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty"). Now, everything seemed to be falling apart when we arrived back at the dealer. I asked for the copy of my license back and they said it was lost? Next I told the salesperson I didn't have time to talk numbers and I wasn't interested in buying from them, but he literally begged me to stay, and so I told him I'd only stay for 10 minutes. After about 2 minutes he comes back with four sheets of paper and, suprisingly, the copy of my license. I began feeling a little cheated so I told him he had 5 minutes until I was going to leave. He suddenly picks up the phone, without it ringing, and says (I am not lying) "Yea, I have him right here. Ok. Ok. Alright. Thanks. We will give you the Subaru 2.5X Premium with the options you wanted, a 27,800 value, for 23,000." I was shocked! Whatever happened to a 6% give on price and that's all? So I looked at the number he wrote down and laughed. I started getting up to leave and he begs me to stay again and hands me 4 sheets of paper. I sit down and begin to read the sheets of paper that had "500 instant rebate on price" written across the top. The "rebate" explained nothing about what it was for and had a signature line across the bottom. I asked the salesperson what this was for. He claimed that the rebate was a "secret offer" they are giving to their special customers. I was not a "special customer" I have never gone to this dealership before. I began looking at the papers and they all had different VIN numbers on them. The salesperson told me that if I signed these they were each worth $500 of my car's price. So now I'm down to 21,000 on a 27,800. The only problem was that these rebates were contracts that stated the person who signs them must log on to this website among several others and give them a perfect score! I was amazed. I would have to lie to other people looking for an honest dealer because they are already being reviewed as dishonest people! I couldnt believe it! I stood up shook my head (said some other things about how that's the exact reason why I was trying to avoid using their dealership) and walked out. The whole way home I felt a little violated. As if they tried to make me an accomplice to their lying cheating and stealing, the only difference was I am not willing to take a payment for lying to my fellow Subaru enthusiasts and I will never stoop to the level of unethical behavior that dealership does on a daily basis. Avoid these people at all costs, and remember if its too good to be true...someone's getting hurt.
