Ed Voyles Kia
Dealership Sales Review
I visited Ed Voyales Kia (EVK) August 8, 2009. No cust. waiting, only sales reps. After we helped ourselves to the donuts, someone finally asked us if we'd been helped. This begins the worst sales experience of my life (it beat out the time share experience back in the 90's). DeAndre Washington was a very nice and courteous sales guy but very in experienced, extremely unorganized and lacked confidence. After test driving I attempted to negotiate a price and soon realized he had no empowerment to make any decisions, so I dealt with the general manager David Booth and we settled the price of a Kia Forte. We also discussed in detail the "clunker" prorgram and the qualfications. One requirement of the program was the registration from previous 2 years which was locked in the glovebox of my clunker and we couldn't get it open. David Booth confidently asked Deandre Washington to have the service open the glovebox. Minutes later Deandre advised that the glovebox had been opened and we could get the registration out. To my horror, the glovebox had been completely destroyed and was hanging open by the hinge. It looked as if they shot a whole in it and then took a blow torch to it. Deandre was not very empathtic when he told me "you think that's bad...wait til you hear what they will do with the car once you trade it in, they're just going to destroy the car anyway!" This was my first experience with buying a car from dealer so to be safe, I took all the paperwork home to review and to wait on financing appvl. When I was finally told that I had been approved for financing, (they wouldn't give me appvl in writing) i returned to the dealer, only to be told by David Booth that the negotiated price was no longer valid. He said "we just got word from the to top that trade-in value has to be applied fo the MSRP only. The "new price" was $2K higher After threatening to escalate the matter above him, he offered a new price - still higher than the original negotiation but I agreed to it along with some free oil changes and car detailing vouchers. We began new paper work that day and I asked Deandre if there were any more "surprises" they were going to whip out and he nervously laughed and said no. Well there were...several more surprises which left me angry so I decided that I didn't need a car bad enought to deal with a very [violative content deleted] David Booth. He renaged to many times to count. Consumers - you deserve to be treated like an intelligent individual, not ignorant sheep that don't know a "spot deliver" scam from a hole in the wall. STAY AWAY FROM DAVID BOOTH - GM AT ED VOYALES KIA AND ED VOYALES HYUNDAI ON COBB PARKWAY IN SMYRNA, GA. MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL PAPERWORK THOROUGHLY BEFORE SIGNING - ESPECIALLY THE "BAILMENT AND REVISION" DOCUMENT. HE WAS VERY UPSET WHEN I ASKED TO TAKE THE PAPERWORK HOME FOR REVIEW. HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO ASK ME "DONT YOU TRUST ME? - ALL DEALERS HAVE THE SAME PAPERWORK" DONT SIGN ANY PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITHOUT KNOWING THAT FINANCING HAS BEEN 100% APPROVED!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND EVEN THE LIKES OF DAVID BOOTH CANT SWINDEL YOU.
