They sell fast, that should tell you that the public likes the HHR. I find it very comfortable and very quiet on the road. Moves out when you need to. Way above what I expected from a small car.

I bought this car after testing a Matrix. The HHR felt like a much better car. My only option is automatic tranny, but it comes with so much standard stuff that I am very pleased. I love the information center and the mp3 plug-in feuture. I drive 50 miles each way to school 3 times a week and I find the car extremely comfortable and I really appreciate the gas mileage, it's awesome. It's great for the money, I feel like I'm driving a far more expensive car. It fits my wife, 2 kids, and all the gear (strollers and such.) What else can I say? If you're considering one, I'd highly recommend it.

Wind / Road Noise

My car gets 20 mpg in town driving and 30 mpg highway. I have had it 6 months. It accelerates quickly enough to get on freeways safely. The heated seats need to be re-designed so more of the seating surface gets warm. The only complaint I have is about wind & road noise, especially at highway speeds, the noise sounds like a window is not completely shut, especially on passenger side, between the front & rear door. This appears to be the result of a design flaw. There is only one rubber seal around the front doors, & if there were two, like on the rear doors, I think the problem would not exist.

Not a winter car!

I purchased my HHR in the spring and loved driving it for about 8 months. Then winter came. The windows continuously freeze up. I have to scrape them to get them to roll down even though there is not obvious signs of freezing. The vehicle is in an unheated garage. I have also found the the struts are terrible. Every time I hit a bump, they squeak. With frost heaves in Maine, I squeak all the time.

We bought this wagon used with 38k traded a pt cruiser. Our 06'hhr lt2 2.4 L has plenty of go, has all options ht. Lthr., 6 in dash cd. Sat. Pioneer radio, onstar, frt.&rear air bags. Only missing running boards. Wish we had them, the paint@ the rear doors is coming off with out them. My wife is the primary driver she travels a lot with this wagon. Carries all her stuff and room for 3 more passengers. She's very happy. Goes through brakes. R&r frt. Links. Ghost problem with park switch, can't remove key. Suggest extended warranty, if buying used. We did has paid for it self. P. S. Electric power steering went too, also likes to go through tires too soon, must rotate often, about 10k. Now has just over 80k.
