It Still Runs

1991 Cadillac Eldorado 2dr Coupe
It's now 2021. I have had this car since 2006, was a Florida car and a gift from my Uncle. The car had only 59,000 miles on it. I never would have dreamed but 15 years later, it still runs with almost 200,000 miles now. I wish I could give this car more than 5 stars. It has treated me so well. I used it daily until about 2015 when I was out of college and started buying other cars, so … this one got driven less. Many people tried to buy it, or take it in on trade but I couldn't part with it. I had a service engine soon light once in 15 years (egr valve). Absolutely everything works flawlessly in this car. I have never added refrigerant or touched the A/C system in this car so it baffles me that it still blows ice cold air. It's a base model, gold with the gold package, whitewall tires with the wire hubcaps. The car is showing cosmetic blemishes after almost 200k miles and 30 years of driving. The clear coat on the roof has a few spots staring to peel this year. The bumpers are faded, dash is fading, and the drivers door panel has split open. I still take excellent care of it. Coolant flushed every 2 years, oil changed around 1,500 miles, ran nothing but premium fuel, transmission serviced every few years as well. This is the type of car that is dependable and requires little effort to fix. Friends and relatives can't believe its still going, and running excellent for that matter. They all remark that I won't let the car die. I am confident it will drive anywhere. The body and undercarriage is remarkable even after driving it in many Pennsylvania winters in the past.
