Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsSpins front wheels freely. Automatic programming is very aggressive like in other recent offerings from GM. Shifts occur deep into redline. 1st to 2nd gear shift is extremely powerful. Brake torqued to 1,750 rpm. Doesn't let the revs rise as high as I would like. Attempting to shift manually results in the vehicle shifting from 1st to 2nd whether you like it or not. Redline is 6500 rpm. Gauges are clear and legible and are similar to ones found in Lexus cars with their electroluminescence.
Braking commentsFeels obviously big during braking, but the brakes are strong. Significant amount of ABS kickback through the pedal, but it sounds refined. Low-pitched growling, grinding noises are emitted. Pedal effort is average. When you begin braking there is a slight sensation of tire skid as the ABS comes online. Extremely consistent.
Handling commentsStability control stays on beyond the actual incident that provokes its coming online. When throttle is pinned and the stability comes online it stays online along with the traction control until you release the pedal...even after the vehicle has gotten back into control. This is a very peculiar characteristic, and not one that most other vehicles incorporate. Large size inhibits placement through course. Stability control does allow for sloppy inputs without worry. Stability is almost as unintrusive as that found in some BMW's.
