My first BMW SUV - almost time to say goodbye
Rbgamer, 05/30/2018
2017 BMW X3 xDrive35i 4dr SUV AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbo 8A)
I have had two other BMWs in the past and loved them. This is my first foray into BMWs SUV world. I have to say that I love this vehicle just as much if not more than my others. It is a medium size SUV but is engineered inside to provide maximum storage and comfort. With the upgrade to the 6 cylinder (which is the engine I am use to having), the fun to drive factor and performance is … definitely still there. My family had to run from hurricane Irma and this was our vehicle of choice to do so because we could count on its reliability, mpg, and roominess for us to take our two dogs and other essentials.
Update: Still loving this vehicle and have had no problems with it.
Update: Have had this vehicle for 3 years now with no problems. I still enjoy driving it and being able to haul around whatever I need to in it. I still love it.
Update: I have now had my X3 for 5 years and it is still a great vehicle. I have had to get a new tires, a battery and do a brake fluid change out but other than that and the normal oil and filter changes, everything is in good shape. I recently took it on a 1,500 mile road trip and it did great. I STILL love it and am glad I bought it!
Update: I have now had my X3 for over 6 years and have used it to run from yet another storm, Ian. The only issue I have had since my last update is the transfer case. My BMW dealer wanted to replace it for $7,900 to get a new one or a couple of thousand less for a refurbished one. I went to my german car specialists not affiliated with a dealer, and they serviced the transfer case, using a Porsche produced transfer case fluid and my problem has been fixed for over 2,000 miles now for just under $800. Overall, being vigilant on the service costs, I am still happy with my X3 and am now at around 32,000 on the vehicle. Just a quick and most likely my last update for my X3. I have now had it for 7 years and am still very happy with it. For its most recent service done last month, it only required a brake fluid flush in addition to the normal oil change and overall check. However, it is now about to go to a family member as I have ordered a new vehicle.
Update: I no longer have this vehicle.
