Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsWe unloaded the clutch at about 4,500 rpm, quickly feeding in the throttle to achieve our best acceleration times. The quickest time was recorded with moderate wheelspin. The Aston's clutch was weak for this test and began to slip on the third run -- probably a result of multiple acceleration tests before we got our hands on the car.
Braking ratingExcellent
Braking commentsThe Vantage's rock-hard brake pedal feels almost artificial at first. It has instant response and very little idle pedal stroke. Once it engages there's virtually zero play before it becomes effective. We easily adjusted after a few minutes behind the wheel.
Handling ratingExcellent
Handling commentsThis car communicates its intentions at the limit exceptionally well. It tells the driver what's going on as it slides and responds intuitively to throttle inputs. It's an easy-to-control, rear-drive bit of automotive brilliance.
