Senior Economist Joins Edmunds.com Team of Analysts
SANTA MONICA, Calif. — July 7, 2010 — Edmunds.com, the premier online resource for automotive information, welcomes Economist Rebecca Braeu, PhD, to its team of analysts.
"Given the uncertainty of the economy, it's timely for us to add an experienced economist to our bench now," commented Edmunds.com CEO Jeremy Anwyl. "The auto industry is one of the economy's biggest components, and its movement offers clues as to the direction of the economy overall."
Dr. Braeu is in the process of relocating from Boston, where she had been serving as an economist for MFC Global Investment Management. Earlier in her career, Dr. Braeu taught economics at California State University, Long Beach. She earned each of her degrees at the University of Colorado and is a member of National Association for Business Economics.
While she has extensive experience analyzing current domestic and foreign economic trends, she is most interested in the Asian and emerging markets, and is regularly interviewed by print and broadcast media on such topics.
"Rebecca's expertise will nicely round out our strong team of analysts and statisticians," commented Edmunds.com Senior Vice President Jane Liu, PhD, to whom Rebecca will report. "The group, which includes six other PhDs, has already established leadership in car sales forecasting accuracy and industry analysis, and yet there is still so much more we can do."
"The rich data available at Edmunds.com is an economist's dream," said Dr. Braeu. "I look forward to helping Edmunds.com's audience understand the developments of the auto industry within a broader context."
