SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Edmunds.com (http://www.edmunds.com), the web's leading consumer resource for unbiased automotive information, has the most loyal following among all automotive web sites and ranks second place overall on the web, according to Dialscore, a new customer loyalty metric developed by Internet consulting firm Digital Idea of Westport, CT.

Edmunds.com received a Dialscore rating of 31 percent, more than twice the internet's average. Additionally, Edmunds.com was named the "gold standard" (highest score) of the automotive category in 10 of the 31 areas studied.

"Our visitors spend significant periods of time on the site and return frequently, indicating they enjoy and trust the information we provide," said Avi Steinlauf, Edmunds.com's Vice President of Marketing. A Dialscore rating is derived from an aggregation of six individual components of loyalty that contribute to the intensity of positive feelings toward a particular site such as relative uniqueness, likelihood to recommend, and ability to build a relationship. The metric was created by Digital Idea, utilizing the proprietary Internet-user panel of their strategic partner Greenfield Online, Inc. of Wilton, CT. The initial wave of the study took into account the experience of 10,000 e-consumers and 346 e-businesses across 7 industry categories. Babycenter.com was the highest ranking web site with a 35 percent rating.
