Edmunds.com Consumer Advice Editor Talks Cars this Weekend on "Marketplace Money"

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — April 29, 2011 — Phil Reed, Edmunds.com's senior consumer advice editor, will be the featured guest expert on this weekend's special automotive episode of "Marketplace Money" on American Public Media. This Los Angeles-based syndicated program is hosted by Tess Vigeland and airs on public radio stations nationwide.

This week's program travels up the 110 freeway to KPCC studios in Pasadena, CA to talk about the culture and business of cars. Reed will tap his 20 years of experience in the industry to share insider tips and cover a range of automotive consumer topics, including how to decide whether to buy a new car or used car and whether to sell your car privately or trade it in to the dealer.

Following the national broadcast on Saturday, Reed and Vigeland will participate in a question-and-answer session inside KPCC's Crawford Family Forum where consumers will be able to address all of their automotive issues. Members of the Hell's Belles car club will also be on hand to show off their collection of vintage cars.

The free event begins Saturday, April 30, at 12:30pm PT and is open to the public. Participants are urged to RSVP on KPCC's website at http://www.scpr.org/events/2011/04/30/car-buying-l-how-not-get-ripped-marketplace-money-/
