Edmunds' InsideLine.com Names 1932 Ford V8 "Greatest Car of All Time"

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — August 17, 2011 — The 1932 Ford V8 tops the list of the "100 Greatest Cars of All Time," according to Edmunds' InsideLine.com, the premier online resource for automotive enthusiasts. Edmunds.com said that the 1932 V8 "has defined American automotive culture for nearly 80 years" after it emerged as the first affordable performance car for the working class.

"InsideLine's list of the '100 Greatest Cars of All Time' includes the vehicles that enthusiasts love, but it also acknowledges those everyday cars that have shaped our lives," said Scott Oldham, editor-in-chief of Edmunds.com. "It's an admittedly subjective list that we hope inspires our passionate audience to offer feedback on which cars they think had the most influence on the American automotive landscape."

The vehicles included on Edmunds' InsideLine.com's list span over 100 years, reaching back to the 1906 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, which came in at #68. The list is anchored by early-year models, with just two cars from the last 40 years placing in the top 20 (the 1973 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty at #19, and the 1987 Buick Grand National and GNX at #20). The only 2011 model to make the list was the Nissan Leaf, which ranked #58.
