  • Towing MPG

Written by: steelydan on Jun 2, 2012 5:51:18 AM

I have a 2011 4L V6 CC, I have not attempted to pull anything near 6,000 lb, but I have read a lot of posts on other Frontier forums about towing. Also, your owner's manual has a whole chapter on towing. With 6,000 lbs, you would need a Cl IV hitch, and I would get some advice from your RV dealer as to weight distribution, what kind of trailer brakes used, ... Read More

To Steelydan.....Wonderful news bout the trans. As I mentioned earlier I had 2 Nissans back to back and they were a joy to have. I had 6 years of complete trouble free driving. Never back to the dealer once with a complaint. Too bad I have so much time left on my current lease or I would be tearing the roads up getting to a Nissan dealer. I have been driving ... Read More

This being my first Nissan post, I would like to start by saying hello to all. We bought a 2011 Crew Cab SV with the Premium Utillity Package. The plan was to have 2 vehicles, the Frontier and our 2007 Honda. After visiting the dealership and a long test drive, my wife decided to trade the Honda in. Now our only vehicle is the Frontier. Steelydan's review is right on, although ... Read More

Thank you Steelydan for the honest review on the Frontier. I knew about the demise of all the small trucks (no Rangers any more in N.A. after this year too) but the mpg did not impress me . I am an old gal but I too like to watch my driving habits (no jack rabbit starts, slow down for lights etc.). Due to problems with the crazy 6sp. auto that Ford ... Read More

Ok, I bought a 2011 Nissan Frontier 6 cyl SV (midline) Crew Cab with a preferred equipment group and a utility equipment group. It also had side step rails . I bought new from a Nissan dealer, no problem with selection. I am assuming you know that if you are looking for a mid size pickup, the domestics have pretty much thrown in the towel. Both the Ranger and Dakota have ... Read More

Hi, new Frontier Crew Cab owner here , 1st pickup truck for me. This particular SV unit came with lots of "add-ons" but no trailer towing package. I will be towing a Boy Scout trailer for weekend campouts, also a Ford Model T on a flat bed trailer. Both are 5,000 lbs or less. I am reading the owner's manual but I just wanted to know what a typical trailer hitch ... Read More

On 7/16 we purchased a new Frontier crew cab 4x4 SL - moved over from my Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab That I've owned for 10 years. So far we are very pleased with the vehicle. It has all the features and capabilities we were looking for and more. MJ, Hey! Thanks for the reply, appreciate the heads up on the keys and key fob. Sounds like you did well on your deal. Since the 2011 models are out, one would expect to get a better deal. Love the Nissan Frontier...nicely built, powerful and good looking too. Had my 2005 model since 2006, and had no problems, 'cept I really beat it up, lol. Enjoy the road and the off-road. ... Nissan Frontier Lease Questions

I certainly do, Shawn. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s October buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 Frontier CC SE 4WD with 15,000 miles per year are .00001 and 50%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2011 model (SV) are .00182 and 55%. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

The current generation Frontier will be in it's fourth year this coming autumn ( that will be the 08 ) so the next gen probably won't be available until approx. 2011-2012 ; my guess. Nissan does seem to change things around a tad more than some other manufacturers, being somewhat less conservative I think, the 08 Titan has had some grille changes, perhaps a new color, the same can be expected ...
